Cruise the world famous Sydney Harbour on a classic wooden sail boat and learn about the world of whisky at the same time. Your knowledgable captain will take you through the history of whisky and the distilling process as you sample a variety of single malt drams.
Discover the highlights of Sydney aboard a classic wooden sail boat, Ellen R has been meticulously restored to her original splendour. Built by Norman R. Wright & Sons in 1958, you will be transported back into a time of elegance, grace and style. Be entertained by Captain Stu with his many and various stories about life on Sydney Harbour (though you can tell him if you don’t want any commentary).
Your 2.5 hour experience departs Mort Bay, heading past Goat Island, Luna Park, Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, Farmers Cove, Royal Botanic Gardens, Fort Denison and Taronga Zoo. Captain Stu will ensure that you have the best views of the harbour – and he will even turn his hand to taking a few pics of your group to make sure you capture the moment. At Taronga Zoo you will drop anchor for a guided whisky tasting. Whether you are a whisky drinker or not, you will enjoy learning about the different origins and flavours of whisky, as well as what to look for and how to taste it. You will be taken through four single malt whiskies of different ages and regions, carefully matched with cheese, nuts or chocolate. Take some time to marvel at the changing colours of the sky as the sun sets and city lights begin to twinkle, before making your return to Mort Bay.
Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.
This voucher is valid for six people. You will have exclusive use of your own private wooden boat with skipper and crew. You can add extra people for an additional fee at time of confirmation directly with the supplier (maximum four additional).
The experience provider's job is to make sure you are comfortable – you can be completely undercover and enclosed so even in winter this is a lovely experience. In summer there is a deck to lounge on. They are happy to reschedule for another time if it is very windy, or raining.
Comfortable clothing is recommended please bring jackets – even on hot days it can be chilly on the water if there is a breeze. And flat white soled shoes (though bare feet are welcome too).
