Be spellbound by the immense beauty of the Tasmanian wilderness at Tahune Adventures, only a 90 minute drive south from Hobart. Wander above the forest canopy along the iconic Airwalk which is elevated 40 metres over the forest floor, with the final section standing a sheer 50 metres above the Huon River. Here, savour the fresh fragrance of the forest as you look out into the endless delights of this World Heritage area. For an added thrill, cross the Swinging Bridges, suspended over the Huon and Picton Rivers and feel the powerful rush of the waters beneath your feet. As you complete the hair-raising walk, look out for an array of flora and fauna that are abundant in the area. Wind down at the onsite cafe, enveloped by pristine Tasmanian wilderness.

Session Length

Open every day except Christmas Day and during adverse weather conditions
Open from 10am - 4pm every day, last entry at 3pm
Allow 30-40 minutes for the Airwalk, 50-60 minutes for the Swinging Bridges Track, and 20-30 minutes for the Huon Pine Walk.

Air walk

Really great place to visit if you are in Hobart. We didn’t realise it’s a little far out from Geeveston town however nice drive and worth it when get there. Few different things to do also. Great for kids, we had two 15 year olds and 4 year old.

There is a lot to do in a day. Consider at least a couple of days there. Service was top notch. Travelled with an elderly person requiring wheelchair assistance. Service from the ladies excellent. Male driver service was ok but however no assistance provided to load wheelchair into cart please bear this in mind if your travelling with a disabled person and you are frail yourself. The design was poorly done so you book a time and they will drive you up to the lookout. Hence red balloon asks you to schedule a time when you buy ticket.

Exhilarating and Awe Inspiring

We had the most amazing day at Tahune Adventures doing the Huon Pines walk, the Air Walk including the Cantilever Platform and the Swinging Bridges walk. It was the most exhilarating and awe inspiring experience. The staff at the reception and cafe area were so very helpful. And what a smart organisation - they are ‘pet friendly’ so we were able to do this adventure. Our dog enjoyed it too and conquered his fear of non solid surfaces. Thank you to our son & his family for thinking to give us the ‘Red Balloon’ voucher for Christmas to use on our adventures in Tasmania.

Big shout out to the staff that allowed us to change our date firstly, hugely appreciated. Spectacular scenery even with the tragic bush fire damage. Such a well layed out and informative area. A lot of thought has gone into the activities and signage. I have a horrible fear of heights but I did the Air Walk and crossed two Swing Bridges so go me. Followed their tip of keeping me hands on the rail. Such a stunning location and beautful drive in. Love loved it!! Something I will rave about always.

Such a worth while visit. The air walk is breathtaking in more ways than one. The swinging bridge is a great walk. And the short walk is great, but different again. More like a rain forest.
