Learn from a professional photographer how to get the best photos out of your smartphone! You will explore the very pretty, historic area of the Rocks in Sydney and try out your guides instructions using only your smartphone and some editing tools. Get inspired to take amazing travel photos!

Course notes

Begin with a complimentary coffee or tea and explore different features of your editing software. Over the next three hours you'll be creating a 'travel story' using photos taken with your smart phone. Learn tips and tricks from a professional photographer and be amazed with what you shoot just using your mobile's camera.

You’ll be given a set of fun challenges that aim to get you to creatively interpret your surroundings – The Rocks. Walk to some amazing vantage points and capture shot in the best light. Test out your new skills and then enhance your photos with editing software. And don’t worry, you won’t forget any of the advice on the day because you get ‘take-home’ notes. Happy snapping!

This class operates every Friday and Saturday
This experience is for 2.5 hours, please allow 3 hours in total

Restrictions

Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a paying adult. The experience provider can’t look after minors and have no duty of care.

Guidelines

MUST BRING YOUR OWN SMARTPHONE. A moderate level of fitness is required to walk and climb some steps.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Group size is 2-8 people.

Weather

In the case of inclement weather, class meeting point may be rescheduled and participants will be notified at least 2-3 hours before.

Dress Code

Smart casual with comfortable walking shoes.

Smart phone photography around the Rocks

Had a great afternoon learning smartphone photography from Alfonso. It was a small group setting and he gave us mini photo challenges after explaining how to use smartphone features. It was also good to learn how to use a photo editing app to enhance photos. Alfonso is a good teacher. He’s friendly and has lots of travel photography experiences. He took us around parts of the Rocks I haven’t been before and I learned what elements to look for to capture in a photo. It was fun and highly recommended.
