A Great Way to See a Different Side of Rottnest

Matt 15 February 2026

I had a really enjoyable day on the Rottnest Island Historic Train and Tunnel Tour. It’s a great way to see a different side of Rotto beyond the normal beaches and bikes. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and easy to listen to and they shared a lot of interesting history about the island that I genuinely didn’t know. The train ride was "cute" and the underground tunnel section was a real highlight . I actually did not know the island had such history and I was fascinated to see the military infrastructure up close. The schedule also gives you time to explore on your own, grab some lunch or wander around the settlement area. My recommendation Pinkys Beach Club at Discovery Parks. A well‑organised operation, a great choice if you enjoy history or just want to experience something a little different while you’re there. The ferry service was on-time to the second, exceptional crew and a smooth operation.
