During your 30 minute flight over Brisbane you will get to fly the aeroplane and experience the sensations and thrill of flying. Your experienced instructor will demonstrate and guide you through the basic handling and manoeuvres of a new recreational aircraft.

What's included?

Your friendly instructor will go through a complete ground briefing before you take to the air. During your 30 minute flight in the local area you will take control under the close supervision of your experienced instructor. This will give you a 'feel' for the machine in its natural environment and you will find it surprisingly easy. You will only be asked to do things the instructor knows you can easily accomplish and absorb. During the flight you can relax in the knowledge that your instructor will handle the landing at the end of the flight. Maximum weight for Sling 2 is 90kg. If participant is over 90kg, MUST select Cessna 172

The time spent flying counts towards your Pilot Certificate, Recreational Pilot Licence, Private Pilot Licence or even your Commercial Pilot Licence.

Important information

Session Length

Allow around 1 1/2 hour for the whole experience, this includes a 15 minute pre-flight briefing and 30 minutes flying time.

Restrictions

You must sign-up for FREE TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP to Recreational Aviation Australia at raaus.com.au/members/ If you are ineligible for membership because you have either previously been a Temporary Member or you have flown more than 3 hours on your current Temporary Membership, then you will need to call us before booking this flight so that we can make alternative arrangements.

Guidelines

Maximum weight for Sling 2 experience is 90kg
Maximum weight for Cessna 172 experience is 130kg
Minimum height is 150 cm
Maximum height is 195 cm
Minimum age is 12 years
Experience is available 7 days a week from 5AM-3PM

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

You will be one on one with your flight instructor.

Weather

In the event of poor weather conditions the experience provider will reschedule your flight.

Dress Code

Comfortable clothes including enclosed shoes. Sunglasses & cap recommended.

Other Info

During the summer months we will only flying early to mid morning simply for passenger comfort.

Location

This experience takes place at Archerfield Airport. This is about 20 min drive south from Brisbane CBD.

Best present idea!

Bought this for my Dad who loves planes and has flown on biplanes before but never did he get the chance to even steer the plane! He loved every minute of the experience and wants to try more aerial tours now. The staff were incredibly friendly and made booking and enjoying the experience so seamless.

I had an in incredible discovery flight through red balloon and pathfinder aviation. The whole staff were great from start to finish. My trainer OJ guided me perfectly from start to finish for the complete flight. I couldn’t recommend them too highly.

Usually flying is greeted with fear, but this flight lesson stripped that away with how beautiful it is in the sky and how much fun is to be had with a whole new experience that you cant get anywhere else. The instructor was very kind, patient and understanding which made me feel safe the entire time. Would love to continue this experience in the future!
