This 2.5 hour junior driver experience gives your child the opportunity to learn the basics of car operation in a safe and controlled environment. Designed specifically for kids aged 12-16, the course includes both theory and practical components and is run by experienced instructors.

What's included?

2.5 hour junior driver experience
Professional instructors
30 minute safety presentation
1 hour of actual driving time

Why should the grown-ups have all the fun! Enrol your child in a fun, safe and hands-on driving course that includes a short theory session on the basics of car operation before they take the wheel of a modern five star rated dual control car. Ran by professional and experienced instructors, your child will learn basic moving and stopping, then progress to turning, slalom exercise, a lane change exercise, and finally an emergency stop using full ABS braking. This 2.5 hour course will help them gain confidence to drive safely and provide them with lifelong skills.

Important information

Session Length

This experience is around 2.5 hours in duration. It is 1 hour of drive time in total. Drivers share a car with another junior driver and rotate turns behind the wheel!

Guidelines

Designed for children aged 12-16. Children must be accompanied by an adult on the day, who will be required to sign our indemnity from
This experience is not suitable for Learner drivers
Minimum height requirement of 130cm
Participants must wear closed shoes. No flip flops, open-toed shoes, sandals or high heels
Do not be late for your session as the structure of the day doesn’t allow for late comers and you will need to be rescheduled which will incur an extra fee

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

There will be two participants per car with an instructor.

Spectators

Parents and guardians must attend on the day. Tea and coffee is provided.

Weather

This experience is not affected by weather.

Dress Code

Wear comfortable clothing and sensible driving footwear, i.e. no high heels or other shoes unsuitable for driving

It was a fantastic experience for my son and I believe this should be a prerequisite in kids getting their learners. It was a simple practical few hours of learning to drive a car within the car park of Sandown including accelerating, turning, stopping, starting and an emergency stop. A full 2 hours of driving with 2 kids per car alternating. Fantastic, I have already booked my other son in. Get your kids to do it before they get their learners!

100% awesome from start to finish! Once you find the driving school cars lined up inside the big black gates on the left hand side, the instructors meet you, take you upstairs for a quick chat and a pit stop and the rest of the time the kids are driving! Each car had 2 kids and they rotated every 15 minutes so no time to get bored in the back seat. Which was great! The instructors guided them through all the basics and my child finished feeling confident enough to drive on the open road which was fantastic! Highly, highly recommend! The instructors are all great, cars are well maintained and overall 10/10 experience. If you have trouble finding the place.... drive passed the small brown building you see in the video, further along on the left hand side you'll see another carpark. On the far side of that carpark youll see all the driving school cars lined up inside the fence, walk through the big black gates and down the driveway to meet the instructors by the driving cars. Have fun!!
