Showcasing the natural splendour of the Tasmanian wilderness, a cruise along the World Heritage-listed Gordon River is the perfect way to spend your morning. Departing from Strahan Wharf, you will pass through Hells Gates, the narrow-channel entrance to Macquarie Harbour, before drifting passed high-tech aquaculture where famous ocean trout and salmon are farmed. Continue to Sarah Island, Tasmania's first and perhaps most notorious penal settlement, where you will disembark for an hour-long guided tour. From here, you will travel into the quiet expanse of the Gordon River. Absorb the tranquility as you glide along, before alighting for a stroll through the lichen-covered rainforest. Throughout the cruise, you will listen to engaging commentary about the area's history, ecology and geology, and savour a gourmet lunch filled with Tasmanian produce.
Yearly scheduled maintenance takes place from July 15th to August 15th. Cruises are not available during this time. 2024 maintenance 15 July to 27 Aug
