Spend an evening immersing yourself in creativity with this two hour clay and sip class at Glaze Galleria in the Inner West of Sydney. Bring some wine and snacks with you if you like, and settle into this cosy ceramic studio for a guided clay throwing class. With a maximum of eight students in each class, you will have all the attention you need from the friendly teachers, who will show you step by step how to throw on the pottery wheel. Create as many pieces as you want and choose which you’d like to keep.

The team at Glaze Galleria will then fire, trim and glaze your ceramics (in your choice of four colours) and let you know when they're ready to be picked up (usually in about four to five weeks). This is the perfect evening to share with your friends, family or colleagues, where you can all dive into a creative and mindful activity together.

Session Length

This experience is two hours in duration
Available Fridays 6pm to 8pm
Available Saturdays 5pm to 7pm
Other times available from time to time, including Saturday afternoon and some Sundays
Other times available for bookings for minimum of six people

Guidelines

Beginners are welcome so no experience needed
Please note, it is BYO wine, guests are also welcome to bring other drinks or snacks along
After pick up, pieces will be food, microwave, oven and dishwasher safe
Clay & Sip Classes run most Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as some Saturday and Sunday afternoons

Cancellation

Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Minimum of four and a maximum of eight participants.

Spectators

Spectators are not permitted in this small pottery studio.

Weather

This experience operates in all weather conditions.

Dress Code

Please wear old clothes that you don't mind getting clay on and closed shoes. Bring an apron and old bath towel and tie back long hair. There is a bathroom if you want to change.

I really enjoyed my Red Balloon “Sip &Throw experience at Glaze Galleria In Drummoyne. Our instructor Sophia was delightful and explained everything beautifully. I would absolutely recommend this activity for anyone not afraid to get a little dirty!

[Employee of redballoon] We did this as a team class and absolutely loved it. The teacher was knowledgable, fun and patient. She broke down how to 'throw' in really clear way for beginners. We all enjoyed creating our own little pots and bowls & there was enough time to experiment and play around with the clay. I've played around with clay before and found the class very enjoyable still!
