Take a walk through Launceston's prized jewel, the Cataract Gorge, situated only minutes away from the city and discover its rich history and natural beauty. Standing as a magnificent natural wonder, the Gorge is brimmed by lush bushland and sheer cliff faces, making you feel miles away from civilisation. Over the course of the 2.5 hours, you will delve into the past and discover the river's significant importance over generations and its ever-changing landscape as you walk the famous Zig Zag track. As your guide leads you across the Kings Bridge, learn how it was manufactured on the other side of the world in 1862 and how it was meticulously moved into its place. After a breathtaking walk, wander back to the award-winning Stillwater Restaurant and savour a delicious two course lunch with your group.
The tour is almost 3.5km in length. The first half is on sealed paths with the final section following man made trails over the Zig Zag Track. This section of the walk requires a reasonable level of fitness and has an ascent and descent in the second half of the tour.

This experience will go ahead regardless of the weather. Please dress appropriately to the conditions of the day.
It is recommended to wear sturdy and comfortable closed toe shoes, a warm jacket, a small backpack and sun protective clothing.
