Overall he enjoyed it, but as the person who purchased the experience I was quite disappointed with what I saw. They advertise as if you're doing some serious off roading driving, but in reality when you get there it's a pretty basic dirt track. Honestly as a spectator I had to laugh every time my partner drove past because he was forced to go so slow. We wanted to make a video out of it but the footage was appalling with how little action was going on. Understandably you're not allowed to push the car the entire time but for god's sake let them have a little fun out there, I was expecting to see some drifting and dirt flying. For the price I paid I expected a lot more from this, and I felt disappointed for my partner because I was so excited to gift him this but it was such a let down. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Great for beginners. Not for experienced drivers. Travahn 14 December 2025 ⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Did the 8-lap WRX rally experience. The staff were friendly and professional, and the cars themselves are cool, but overall the experience felt a bit too controlled — especially if you already have driving experience. You’re told exactly when to shift, when to brake, and what to do the entire time. I understand that for the first couple of laps, but it stays like that for the whole session, which takes a lot of the thrill out of it. There’s also very little free roam or opportunity to actually push the car, and you’re not allowed to hit anything hard, which was a bit of a letdown. The hot lap isn’t done in the WRX either — it’s in the buggy. The buggy is fun, but it would’ve been great to see the WRX properly flung around instead. I drive high-horsepower Subarus on the road, so I was hoping for a bigger sense of adrenaline and freedom on the track. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite deliver that for me. That said, the people are genuinely nice, and I can see this being a great experience for beginners or first-timers. Just not something I’d personally come back for. Due to covid delays and other factors it was nearly 4 years before I could actually take the drive. Red Ballon were able to accommodate the delays. Safety briefing was 5 mins, no overalls and advised to go put a helmet, no help for children was provided to even see if they fitted. Complimentary snacks were bottles of water and chips thrown onto a table. Driving lasted approximately 5 mins.
