Dysart House is home to the Old Kempton Distillery and a few spooky ghost stories! This experience begins with an introduction to the story of Dysart House before embarking on a behind the scenes tour of the working distillery. The tour wraps up in the Cask Lounge with a guided tasting of four unique Old Kempton spirits as you chat more about the distillation process and the unique characteristics and profiles of each. Finish your afternoon grazing on an antipasto platter showcasing some of the finest Tasmanian produce. And to perfectly complement your lunch, you can choose from a bottle of red or white wine to share.

Love the history of this historic house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Old Kempton. We were greeted warmly and given an informative tour of the history, house and distillery. We enjoyed our tastings in the courtyard and then a delicious lunch in the chesterfield lounge. Even the toilet facilities are very impressive. Thank you Old Kempton for a lovely afternoon.

Informative and quite interesting!

The distillery tour was super informative, and quite a good insight into a boutique distillery brand. From where their ingredients are sourced, and how the government regulations change the way they store products, as well as learning the history of the beautiful old grand manor and its grounds. Our tour guide was informative, funny and a great asset to Old Kempton Distillery. Try the apple gin! It was the favourite for all four of us.

We were greeted by friendly staff, who gave us some history before our tour began, so we were off to a good start. Our tour guide was also very friendly, informative and was only too happy for us to ask lots of questions. After the tour we were given an amazing antipasto lunch with ample tastings of the fine gin and whiskey that Old Kempton Distillery produces, plus our bottle of wine and some coffee. From start to finish our experience was excellent!

We had a great experience at the Old Kempton Distillery with the package of a tour of the distillery, then a tasting of gin and whisky, and a super cheese and meat platter for lunch. Highly recommended. The Distillery also offers the designated driver samples of the whisky to take away--a nice touch to help with road safety.
