This breathtaking 90-minute tour departs from the Granite Island Causeway and cruises between the mainland and the northern side of Granite Island, affording spectacular views of both the Victor Harbor shoreline and the island. Once past the breakwater, the RIB picks up its pace. Seal Rock is the first stop, where New Zealand Fur Seals and Australian Sea Lions bask in the sun between fishing forays and swimming out to the boat for a sticky-beak! Then on past the huge granite boulders of Wright Island and the Bluff, with Shark Alley in between where your guide talks about the whaling history of the area.

Passengers on this tour are in for a real treat! A colony of seals and sea lions can be found basking on the rocks and swimming in the shallows. Seabirds abound in this remote area and often pods of Common and Bottlenose Dolphins can be spotted playing or feeding. The boat heads further west past the darkly spectacular cliffs of Kings Beach and Waitpinga before turning around and heading back to Granite Island Causeway.

Cruises may be cancelled due to extreme weather, should this occur passengers will be given the option of a full refund or transfer to another day.

I bought this for my step fathers 92nd birthday. He, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 90 minute experience. It was bumpy at the front where we sat which we were told but was a little too bumpy for the birthday child. The staff were excellent and helped him to the back where it was more comfortable. Didn't make any difference to view the magnificent Waitpinga cliffs, see the different dolphin pods and the seals/seal lions. Would highly recommend this experience.

Rupert and crew were organised and the boat was clean and very well presented. We were treated to a tour of several inshore Islands near Victor Harbor where we saw Sea Lions, Seals and Dolphins. Great commentary by the crew and their knowledge of the area was immense. The Dolphins were great, there was a large pod including several juveniles and they came around the boat and played for close to a quarter of an hour giving all tour members a really good view of them both under water and jumping.
