Surfs up! Spend a sunny day at the beach learning to surf during this fun lesson in Torquay. An experienced instructor will teach you all the tricks of the trade, showing you how to paddle out, catch a wave and stand up on your board. You'll be riding those waves with ease in no time!

Whether you are a beginner looking to catch your first wave or take the next steps towards intermediate skills, spend two hours out in the sunshine and in the pristine water catching epic waves. Coined as the surf capital of Australia, Torquay is the perfect place for a fun-filled lesson. Over the two hours, your skilled surf coach will teach you the basics of the sport, from the correct paddling technique and how to catch a wave through to the correct stance. Your lesson will begin on the sand with a safety briefing and some basic instruction, before heading out into the water to put theory into practice. After catching some waves, you will return to the sand for a more detailed demonstration on how to stand up. You will spend the rest of the lesson in the water working on your skills.   • This experience is two hours in duration
  • Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of your lesson

We don't recommend this activity for children under 8 years old. Children under 9 must be accompanied by a parent who is not participating in the lesson who can come into the water to assist.

Bookings are essential.

  • Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Lessons usually go ahead in most weather conditions, even if it is raining. Lessons are only cancelled if there is dangerous conditions like very strong winds or lightening.

Both Redbaloon and Go Ride A Wave were phenomenal to deal with when booking this experience. They made the whole process super easy and stress free. The surfing was so much fun and the instructors were super helpful and made the whole morning so enjoyable! Highly recommend! Super fun day out!!
