★★★★★ ★★★★★ Nice day trip to Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) Lindsay 2 December 2025 This is a good option for a day trip to Mulgumpin (Moreton Island), though I’d mostly recommend it for tourists. The positives: The ferry transfers were excellent. Staff were fantastic, friendly, and very competent. There was a warm resort welcome with a quick intro to the facilities and activities. The day lounge was a great escape from the heat. Coffee and cake from the Coffee Lounge were delicious. A day on the island is nothing to be upset about :) Areas for improvement: Food at the Beach Café was overpriced and disappointing (returned the calamari as it was stringy and off-tasting). The quad bike tour felt very tame. Ideal for beginners or nervous riders, but for us it was more like a constant photo shoot than an adventure. Dolphin feeding was cancelled due to weather (which we completely understand), but the experience overall felt overly commercialised, with around 60 people lined up on the beach. The resort emphasises not overfeeding dolphins to avoid dependency, yet doesn’t limit participant numbers? Communication during the weather disruption was poor. Staff were attempting to give directions to guests but were not provided the right information to answer questions, and the team member leading the dolphin feeding became abrasive when approached for clarification. The guide was so kind and made sure my daughter and I were confident through it all. Moreton Island is so beautiful and we enjoyed our day by the pool and at the beach, until dolphin feeding at sunset. Honestly one of the best things I've ever done!!
