What's included?

1 hour tall ship cruise

On board you will learn the rich history of this vessel, from merchant vessel to carrying the first settlers of Melbourne. This cruise also coincides with the Williamstown Craft Market, a great place to stop before or after your cruise to pick up some unique goodies.

The Enterprize tall ship is an all-timber, carvel planked, two masted, topsail schooner. She is single decked, and made as close in replica to the original ship operating as a coastal trading vessel in the 1800's. She has been traditionally constructed using Australian and New Zealand grown timbers. This experience aims to provide you with the opportunity to experience life on board a nineteenth century sailing ship.

Session Length

Please arrive at the ship 15 minutes before the ship is due to depart

Guidelines

Please be aware, the ship is traditionally rigged and will have plenty of tar present, choose clothing that can get dirty
Seating is available, however limited

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

You will share this experience with other participants on board.

Weather

If the wind and/or rain is light to moderate, Enterprize will still sail. If it is heavy rain, the Master may cancel the sail and you will be notified by email and SMS.

Dress Code

Please bring a hat, sunscreen, flat shoes and a warm, windproof layer.

Other Info

You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or dinner, including a bottle of wine, but please be aware that the ship will move, so containers need to be sealable, and glassware should be plastic.

Our 1 hour cruise from Williamstown aboard the Tall Ship Enterprise was wonderful! My husband & I took our almost 90 year old mother with us and she absolutely loved her experience! From the ground staff directing us on the Pier, to the onboard crew, everyone was so helpful and friendly. The Crew were very informative and on hand to answer any questions. My husband took part in helping hoist the sails and he climbed the rigging, in spite of being afraid of heights, and he loved it! I thouroughly recommend this experience for all age groups.Well done to all involved and Thank you for an amazing day! :)

Amazing journey. Out on the water for over an hour with experienced sailors who explained the whole journey. Was able to climb the rigging if I wanted to, but declined and let the fitter members of our group to do the hard yakka. Would recommend this trip to all types of people as the crew were able to look after the less mobile of the group. Lots of fresh air even with the smoke from the fires.

It was our anniversary and because of our love for sailing ships, we ventured to the "Enterprise". The Captain and crew were skilled, friendly and entertaining. Thank you for a great time out there on the bay..truly enjoyed it.

To start with, the 21st century ticket parking machine had a problem, so not wanting a parking infringement we decided to shift the car to a different location followed by a very brisk walk to the pier, arriving at the ship just in time. I don't recall commentary about history of the Enterprize but it may have already taken place. As a replica of an 1800's ship she has been constructed with great skill and craftsmanship. The Master was knowledgeable about all aspects of his ship, an excellent leader and mentor for his crew, had great rapport with his passengers, and all with a good sense of humour. On the bay, the Enterprize gave a very smooth ride - almost across to Middle Park and back - passing a cruise ship berthed at Station Pier. Opportunities were available to assist the crew, and a few passengers took the long climb up the rigging to enjoy the view. Overall this was a most pleasurable sailing adventure.

We had a great time started out sunny and then the heavens opened up. Got soaked and loved the experience which would have been like in the old days. The staff were friendly and approachable. Told us many stories. Great sail. Great sail⛵⚓
