Restrictions

Flights do not operate during the warmer months of December to March due to unsuitable weather conditions.

Guidelines

• Please advise your weight, any special dietary requirements and if you have had a recent injury or surgery at the time of booking
• People who have had recent back or leg injuries should consult their doctor before flying
• Flights run daily subject to availability and minimum numbers between early April and late November
• Windward Ballooning will not knowingly fly any person who is pregnant
• Please ensure our booking office has accurate weights for all of the passengers in your group.
• Safety is paramount in our operations and the conduct and duration of your flight is totally at the pilot's discretion
• Hand baggage and selfie sticks may not be carried in the balloon and must be left with the retrieve crew for the duration of the flight.

Cancellation

• Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience, means passengers can reschedule or postpone their booking for free up to 7 days before the experience.
• Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
• Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
• If you do not arrive at the venue for the flight no refund will be made and you will lose the ability to book ahead for another flight
• If you wishes to cancel and receive a refund, you must send an email to obtain approval from our accounting department.

Numbers on the Day

The price quoted is for one person. There may be up to 20 other people in the basket with you during your flight.

Spectators

Groups of spectators are not encouraged as you do not always launch at the airfield, and vehicles cannot follow onto private property that you may launch from

Weather

In the case of strong winds or heavy rain your flight may be cancelled and rescheduled for a later date. If your flight is to be cancelled you will be contacted by 1pm the day before your booking.

Dress Code

Please wear casual clothing, and sturdy walking-type shoes (feet get cold and wet in the early morning dew). In cooler weather you will need a sweater or jacket. It does not get any colder in the balloon because we do not reach high altitudes and there is no wind chill factor as the balloon moves with the wind. The burners will also provide warmth. We suggest you bring a cap.
