Set sail aboard a beautiful 58 foot sailing yacht for a memorable twilight cruise in the magical waters surrounding Magnetic Island. Enjoy premium wine or beer accompanied by a selection of gourmet local cheeses while you watch the sun setting over the island..

Your sunset sail begins in Nelly Bay, Magnetic Island, where your hosts for the evening will welcome you aboard a beautiful 58-foot sailing yacht, Pilgrim. After a full briefing to ensure you feel comfortable and safe, you will head out into Cleveland Bay and pull up sails. Pilgrim is the perfect yacht for a twilight cruise; she's stable and very comfortable with a large foredeck and two cockpits - so plenty of seating and space for you to spread out and relax.

Experienced, professional and friendly hosts will make your trip as enjoyable and memorable as possible. The number of guests is kept to a minimum to ensure a very personal service to you - whether you want to learn about sailing, have a go at helming the boat or sit back and relax. Onboard there is a selection of different Tamburlaine Organic Wines for you to enjoy (note: there is no red wine). Alternatively, if you’re a non-wine drinker, premium beers and soft drinks are available too. There is also a selection of delicious cheeses and accompaniments to enjoy with your drinks as you relax and enjoy views of the beautiful Magnetic Island and Townsville coastline.

Enjoy the peace as Pilgrim glides through the waters of Cleveland Bay while you watch the sunset over the island. Once the light starts to fade, you’ll return to the marina in time for dinner or your evening plans.

Session Length

Sip and Sail Sunset Cruises run everyday except Christmas Day and New Year's Day, subject to availability
Departure time varies throughout the year depending on the time of the sunset.
The pick up time will be included in the confirmation emails you will receive. This varies from 4.15pm to 5.15pm depending on the date of the cruise.
The Sip and Sail Sunset Cruise is approximately a 90-minute experience and the vessel with return to the dock around 20 minutes after sunset.

Guests must be 14 years of age or over.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

There will be a minimum of 4 guests and a maximum of 12 guests

Weather

There is plenty of space below and an awning on deck in case of wet weather. If conditions are extreme and are not conducive to a great day out. The skipper will make the decision at 3pm on the day. A full refund or reschedule (if possible) will be available if the skipper cancels the event due to extreme weather

Dress Code

Casual comfortable clothes are recommended.

Paul and Bridie were great hosts, the drinks were very free flowing and the food platter was delicious. The yacht is comfortable and definitely the way to watch the sun set at Magnetic Island

Timely communication by owners ensured we knew how to prepare for our experience. The staff were friendly informative and hospitable. We felt welcome safe and had a wonderful evening enjoying a delicious platter of nibbles and local wine and beer. The weather was perfect for our sailing, Clare & Paul were great hosts and the yummy Australian wine flowed freely (generously). And some great local cheeses (form T'ville) were on offer on the cheese board too. Knowledgeable about the area and the boat (haha this helps when your partner is an engineer!), but not interfering with the serenity of the sailing experience. Highly recommend and look forward to going again on our next visit to Maggie.
