Learn the basics and wonders of working with indigo dye. An experienced artist will show how to set up an indigo vat and create beautiful textiles using the ancient Japanese resist-dyeing technique known as shibori. The technique involves folding, clamping, twisting and compressing cloth. All materials and fabric will be supplied but feel free to bring anything that you want to dye (preferably cotton, linen or hemp). Once you've got the hang of it and discovered your favourite techniques, you'll be tasked to make a silk scarf as your final project. Leave with a one of a kind garment that you can show off to family and friends!

Class requires a minimum of six people to go ahead. In the event class numbers are not reached you will be offered a class transfer.
Wear comfortable non-precious clothes and shoes. Be prepared to get your hands dirty!
