★★★★★ ★★★★★ Recommended What an amazing fun tour Lynda 4 June 2025 Lumineer Sunset and BBQ dinner tour was fabulous and would highly recommend. Loved the fact we got to do sandboarding before seeing the Pinnacles stargazing. Sam our bus driver was great, full of fun and information. Couldn't believe how many stars there were and watching the sunset over the Pinnacles was so breathtaking. Stopped just out of where we went sandboarding for a snack/lunch, then snowboarding which was such a great experience for all ages. then went to a couple of lookout before heading into the National Park to look at the Pinnacles/Stars. Lumineers did a great job with tea, nibbles before tea with juice/mineral water/wine with a BBQ for tea. They went all out with a great variety of salads (no basic tossed salad) but potatoe salad, pasta salad, and about another 5 - other salads. Couldn't believe how many stars there were, as they slowly came out. Such a long drive, would highly recommend doing this as a tour and especially with Lumineers, who actually go into the Pinnacles and sandboarding not just from a seeing them from a lookout as same apparently do. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Recommended A beautiful experience in a unique location Jessica 28 October 2023 Running a stargazing tour is a bit of a risky venture, because you're at the mercy of uncontrollable factors like weather, moon phases, etc. Despite this, Gavin and Sam (our tour guides / drivers on the day) did their best to give us a wonderful experience. The weather was great on the day, with clear skies and little wind, so our little sandboarding stop in Lancelin was good fun. Unfortunately, wildflower season had ended early this year, so we didn't stop to see the flowers, and our stop at Hangover Bay was a short one mostly just for photos. We got some genuinely interesting commentary during the drive about the various locations and native flora, but only when there was something worth pointing out—most of the drive was pretty quiet, which I personally enjoyed. The moon was an incredibly bright waxing gibbous on the night, which was a bit of bad news for stargazing—the Milky Way was basically invisible, and to top it off, clouds rolled in out of nowhere just as the telescopes were set up. Still, Gavin immediately changed tack to keep the experience running with stories and a 'healing sounds' meditation. Once the clouds had moved, he was able to shift the telescopes to view a different section of the sky so that those of us who hadn't had a chance to look through the telescopes could still give it a go. I highly recommend this tour, though if you have any mobility limitations or use equipment larger than a walking stick, you should definitely check with the providers (Lumineer Adventure Tours) beforehand. The minibuses have very limited storage space, and there's a significant step up/down from the bus to the ground. It's also a tour through areas of unpaved, sandy terrain, though the desert itself is a bit firmer underfoot (but still sand, which can still be slippery). While I feel like Gavin and his team would be able to make accommodations if given warning / time to plan, you might still miss out on elements like the sand dunes or going down to the beach at Hangover Bay, and if your equipment is too bulky, there just might not be enough space to stow it on the bus, since they also have to transport all the food, drinks, and stargazing equipment. The limited storage space would also be a consideration for anyone with a pram or stroller.
