★★★★★ ★★★★★ Good food, great location for a picnic - but .... David 13 April 2026 The picnic basket was yummy. The weather and the location was perfect but.... The cost was excessive. We could have saved $50 if we ordered direct (without the bottle of wine). We enquired about a non-alcoholic option instead of the bottle of wine. Was told that would be possible. As it turned out they offered us two soft drinks as a substitute for what looked like a $30-40 bottle of wine. We would have been happy with two non-alcoholic beers. The picnic package was also advertised as coming with crockery. We received two cutlery packs as you receive when ordering fish and chips at the local take-away. Wooden knife and fork and a small napkin. Not even a couple of paper plates. We had to divide the food up into the cardboard containers the food came in. It ended up being a wonderful day but most of that was simply down to having a picnic in our wonderful botanic garden. Customer Experience Hi David, thank you for sharing your feedback. We picked up the box of delicious food after a short wait sitting in the resturant with a glass of cool fizzy water. We found a spot in the gardens under a tree, put down our picnic cloth and proceeded to enjoy the food and wine. The food was delicious. We would have liked a plate each but everything perfect otherwise.
