The perfect course for beginners

Your professional photographer will start the day by explaining in depth the 11 elements and principles of composition, shutter speed, ISO, aperture, colour temperature and using basic flash, indoors or outdoors all of which which are valuable assets when creating travel photography.

Once you start feeling more comfortable about all the settings on your camera, you will take to the charming streets of Fremantle to start taking some amazing landscape shots. Along the way you will stop to try different techniques such as adjusting shutter speeds of moving subjects like bikes, cars and people, achieving shallow or great depth of field and also indoor low light locations to get you out of trouble when you don't have enough light.

This workshop is perfect for beginners that want to learn more about the technical and creative possibilities of their digital camera. After this course participants will no longer need to use the automatic settings of their camera and will be ready to shoot travel photography in a whole new creative way which will allow for a great memory of that picturesque location!

This workshop is available on selected Saturdays, there usually in one class per month
Please allow 3 hours for this experience

Restrictions

Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a paying adult. The experience provider can’t look after minors and have no duty of care.

Guidelines

Participants must bring their own digital camera, memory card(s)and fully charged battery.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Weather

In the case of inclement weather, class meeting point may be rescheduled and participants will be notified.

I was gifted the Fremantle photography tour and ended up having a private tour with my husband. Peter was great and tailored the tour just for us, we learned heaps and it was great fun wandering around Freo with our knowledgeable guide! Pace was great and it was very immersive, would do this again!

This walking photography tour gives you the hands on experience you need to take your camera off auto and play around with the manual settings. Having a good DSLR camera doesn't help you take better shots unless you know how to use it properly. Peter was really helpful working with each participant considering we all had different camera brands. Being able to shoot in different lights (inside, outside and in the shade) was really helpful for understanding the different settings you cant grasp in a classroom. I now know the basics (for my camera) and feel comfortable playing around with the different setting in manual mode.

Freemantle is a great place to experiment with photography. It was great to finally understand most of the settings in my camara and feel confident on how to use them. It’s a good way to start however time is quite short for such a vast field.
