Forever entwined with the pearling industry, Broome's history is certainly a captivating one. Head to Pearl Luggers, featuring a fully rigged and restored pearl lugger surrounded by a replica inter-tidal jetty and tenders store, for a 1.5 hour journey back in time. Become familiar with 150 years of maritime and pearling history as you learn how it all unfolded amongst the mangroves on the foreshore of Dampier Creek. See, touch and hold some of the most valuable pearling, diving and mother of pearl artefacts, and enjoy a complimentary tasting of the flavoured pearl meat from the Pinctada Maxima oyster - a rare and expensive delicacy.
