Starting at Broadwater on Pambula Lake and paddling to the Pambula River mouth with its vibrant turquoise waters and beautiful natural surroundings, this is a kayaking experience where no previous kayaking experience is necessary. With an expert kayak guide on hand to show you how, you will paddle up the river as they point out the wildlife and natural features of Beowa National Park. Along the way you will stop to stretch your legs, have a bit of a swim and enjoy a delicious morning tea, before resuming your expedition and returning to where you started. with a morning tea that includes plunger coffee, black leaf or peppermint tea, sugar and local full cream milk from Tilba Dairy as well as seasonal fruit and slice, the aim is to have you relaxed and feeling at one with nature.

Restrictions

Kayaks have maximum weight limit of 130kg set out by the manufacturers specifications Knowledge of swimming is not a requirement, but we do encourage guests who are unable to swim to let us know in the comments section of the booking form. This will help us ensure extra safety measures are in place for those individuals. We use double or triple kayaks for children 10 and under to share with an adult Public toilets are 300m walk from start/finish location

Guidelines

Our expert kayak guides are able to assist everybody in entering and exiting the kayaks safely and with dignity
Any travelling parties with participants under the age of 3, must book a private tour and not join our group public tours
Trained assistance animals are not permitted inside the kayaks for safety reasons
Special dietary requirements can be catered for upon request, just let us know at the time of booking

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Minimum of four and a maximum of 10 participants.

Weather

If we cancel a tour due to weather or operational requirements we will notify you as soon as possible and offer you a full refund or alternative activity.

Dress Code

Hat, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen, and shoes that can get wet are recommended. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring with you any personal medication needed and a refillable water bottle as a minimum.

Kayaking trip on the Pambula river

[Employee of redballoon] Absolutely loved my kayaking trip down the Pambula River. I was a bit apprehensive since it had been a few years since I’d been in a kayak, but I had nothing to worry about. It was nice and slow paced, and our guide took great care of us, making sure we were all okay while sharing great insights about the local area as well as the Aboriginal history. We kayaked through the oyster farms and then got to sample some at the end. It was a complete highlight of my South Coast trip!
