Located just 10 minutes away from the city, Newtown is a bustling suburb filled with lots of character, plenty of things to see and unique things to do. You won't fail to find an awesome bar, a trendy craft brewery, cool thrift shops, galleries, eye-catching street art, stylish cafes and a plethora of restaurants offering all the cuisines of the world you could think of.

Starting at the iconic "I Have A Dream" mural on King St, you'll meet your guide who will give you a brief run down of Newtown's colourful history, culture, people and evolution. You'll then take to the streets like a local to sleuth out some of the very best food spots and most captivating murals in the neighbourhood. Savour the delicious flavours of 4 different cuisines and be inspired by the artistry and stories behind the creative masterpieces, before finishing the day off with a relaxed visit to a popular brewery for a shared tasting paddle or a glass of craft beer to enjoy with your fellow guests!

Restrictions

Accessibility: This tour is involves some inclines and uneven surfaces, but the route can be adjusted to suit guests with mobility concerns. Please contact us prior to booking so that we can ensure you are well catered for. We would not normally recommend this tour for guests who cannot comfortably cover 4 kilometres, are in wheelchairs or have vision impairments, but amendments can be made for guests if booked as a private tour. Please contact us to organise a private tour.

Guidelines

Please advise of any dietary requirements at the time of booking
This tour is great for all ages, including teenagers. Although we visit a brewery at the end of the tour, guests under 18 are allowed provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian, or you can choose to end the tour before the brewery. Given the types of food sampled, we recommend the tour only for children aged 12 and above (or those with more sophisticated palates).
Accessibility: This tour is wheelchair-friendly and accessible for guests with vision-impairments. We cover approximately 2km but the route is flat, with no stairs or inclines. The total walking time is approximately 30 to 45 minutes, but with plenty of food stops along the way.
Dietary notes: Vegetarians, vegans, guests with gluten-free diets and any other dietary requirements are more than welcome, just let us know in advance.

Weather

This experience runs in all weather conditions. If it is raining, please bring an umbrella or waterproof jacket. Tours never get cancelled because of rain and only if it is too dangerous to proceed with a tour.

Dress Code

It is recommended to wear comfortable shoes as you will walk approximately two kilometres over three hours.

My husband and I took this tour around Newtown to see some street art and amazing food spots, it didn’t disappoint! We had a great afternoon and our guide is very well informed. We tried lots of great food, drinks and ice cream. Even though we are from Sydney we still learnt a lot and had a great time. Definitely a tour for locals and international visitors. We’re looking forward to doing more tours.
