The wild is calling at Monarto Safari Park, the largest safari experience outside of Africa. Monarto Safari Park is home to more than 500 exotic and Australian native animals, including many of Africa’s most impressive animals such as Rhinos, Elephants, Lions, Giraffe, Meerkats and Chimps.

Monarto Safari Park is home to more than 500 exotic and Australian native animals, including many of Africa’s most impressive animals such as Rhinos, Elephants, Lions, Giraffe, Meerkats and Chimps. Explore the open plains of the park and its abundant flora and fauna by discovering some or all of the 12 kms of walking trails and by hopping on the Zu-loop shuttle bus for a guided tour of the park. As you travel around the open plains of Monarto Safari Park, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped out onto your very own African safari! The journey takes you through large open-range exhibits, allowing you to see the animals in a natural setting and to hear more from passionate guides! To make the most of your visit, make sure you hop off at the viewing platforms, enjoy a keeper presentation or book an up-close Animal Experience for your opportunity to come face to face with some of our animals.

We recommend setting aside a minimum of four to five hours to fully enjoy Monarto Safari Park.

Important information

Session Length

9.30am - 5pm, 365 Days a year (Last entrance 3pm) (N.B. Monarto will be closed when the temperature exceeds 40deg.)

Guidelines

Adult: 15 years old+
Child: 4-14 years old
No dogs or pets are allowed
Children must be accompanied by an adult

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Weather

Monarto Safari Park is closed when the forecast temperature exceeds 40 degrees. Other adverse weather and strong winds can affect this tour. Ticket holders will be contacted if the Park is closed.

Dress Code

Please wear a sun-hat and protection, no dogs or pets are allowed.

Monarto Safari and Bus entry is a must see for all

Such a wonderful up close view of the various animals in an open habitat, all from the comfort of a coach bus. The guide was very knowledgeable about both the animals and the area, and it was well worth the visit, will be going again.

Had a great day at Monarto safari park. Went mid week so was quiet. Regular buses operate to take you round and you can hop on and off at different stops to explore and see different animals. Especially enjoyed chimp keeper talk. One restaurant open when we visited. Food average in my opinion.

WILD day out, so close to Adelaide

Visiting Monarto Safari Park was an incredible experience. They have a loop shuttle bus which made it easy to explore the expansive park and see animals. We seen giraffes, lions, and rhinos in open-range habitats. The guides were knowledgeable and clarly passionate, sharing fascinating insights during the journey. The park's layout allows for both walking trails and shuttle access, catering to different preferences. The viewing platforms provided excellent vantage points for observing the animals in a naturalistic setting. We end up walking half and used the shuttle for the other half. It's a fantastic day out for families and wildlife enthusiasts alike. Highly recommended for a unique safari experience close to Adelaide.

Brilliant day , so much to see and do

Took the grandkids for the day during school holidays. Was not crowded at all on a Monday and no long waits for the busses that shuttle you round the park. Plenty to see and do , Miss 7 and Mr 10 enjoyed the day , and it took us almost 6 hours to see and do it all. Enjoyed lunch at the park cafe, not cheap but the food was good and staff and volunteers across the park were lovely. Had never been before but will definitely come back

Great day out

Highly recommend a day at Monarto Safari Park. Well organised shuttle bus with friendly and informative volunteers. Guides were knowledgeable and friendly also. Cafe was adequate and not hugely overpriced. Lots of nice, well signposted walks throughout the park.

Monarto Zoo is great for all ages! We brought 2 adult and a child pass with our Redballon gift voucher. Our son is only 15 months old so we arrived at the Zoo we realised that we didn’t need to buy him one. Kids under 4 are free. Not a huge deal as they do a lot for the animals there so happy for the extra money to go to the Zoo. Definitely take the bus ride around the whole Zoo then go back on for any talks you want to attend. You will get so close to the animals on the bus! The staff were so lovely and informative. We will definitely go back soon we all had a fantastic day! Little tip which we already knew. Don’t take your big prams. If you take a little stroller you can take it on the bus. You don’t need to walk to far but we found it a lot easier to have the stroller!

We had such a great day - I had my three children with me with the 4 and 5 year old usually a little difficult in public - had a ball ! Was distracted and happy all day and the hardest part for them choosing a little gift from the gift shop
