If you’ve ever dreamed of flying a helicopter, now is your chance to take the controls with an introductory helicopter lesson in Sydney. Your lesson begins with a detailed briefing on the basics of your helicopter flight, control functions and importantly the essential safety measures. Once you’re ready, you'll embark on a thrilling 1-hour training flight, where you'll get hands-on experience from the moment the engine starts in either a Cabri G2 or a 4 seat R44 helicopter.

As you soar through the skies, your qualified instructor will guide you step by step, allowing you to gradually take control of the helicopter. You’ll fly over the Bankstown Airport training area, practising steady flight paths, changing direction and even hovering. This experience offers a unique opportunity to understand what it’s like to be a pilot, all while enjoying the excitement of controlling a helicopter.

Session Length

This experience is 60 minutes in duration

Restrictions

The maximum passenger weight for the helicopter is 110kg.

Guidelines

No particular level of fitness is required but people with epilepsy cannot fly
No experience is required, you will be supervised by an expert instructor at all times
No heavy drinking the night before and a decent breakfast on the morning are recommended

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Weather

In the event of low cloud, fog, high winds and thunderstorms your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider. However, wet weather can still allow a flight to go ahead if visibility allows.

Dress Code

Loose comfortable clothing should be worn, as it can get quite warm in the cockpit and sturdy shoes. Sunglasses are a must as the glare off clouds can be quite severe. It is also recommended to bring a hat on this experience.

Fantastic hands on experience!

Fantastic experience with Alex from HTT - very friendly, gave a great briefing before the flight, answered all my questions, and was very helpful and considerate during the flight. Flight itself was amazing and very scenic up from Bankstown, over the Harbour Bridge, out the heads and back to Parramatta. Would definitely recommend to anyone with an interest in helicopters!
