One-hour guided tour of Lake Cave

Experience the magnificence of the Lake Cave nestled beneath earth's surface in the Margaret River region. On this fully guided tour, you will first descend a staircase through a spectacular ancient sinkhole, surrounded by towering karri trees, before arriving at the cave entrance, where the incredible lake lies in tranquillity.

Watch as the small droplets fall from the tips of the stalactites into the lake, creating peaceful ripples across the surface. Your knowledgeable guide will change the lighting in the cave, focusing on different features, creating incredible views and stunning silhouettes in the darkness. This tour is truly a one of a kind and will leave all visitors in awe of the wondrous world beneath us.

Guidelines

Bookings are essential.
Pack a water bottle, but no other food or drinks are allowed inside the cave.
Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for walking up stairs.
Bring a camera (selfie-sticks and tripods aren’t permitted inside the cave).
The caves are delicate and fragile. For conservation and safety reasons, we encourage you to limit the items you bring inside. Please leave backpacks in the car.
Front-worn baby carriers are great for adventures but backpack baby carriers are not permitted.

A Peaceful Underground Oasis

[Employee of redballoon] I was offered the chance to do the Lake Cave Fully Guided Tour which was such a great experience. You head down around 400 stairs into this sunken forest. Once you step inside the cave, it feels like an underground oasis: calm, cool and peaceful. Our guide was quirky and engaging, and the whole tour felt really safe and well organised. The cave is beautifully lit, so you can take everything in without feeling crowded or rushed. It’s quiet, relaxing, and honestly just a really nice break from the outside world. The tour itself takes around an hour and it’s absolutely worth it if you’re in the Margaret River region.

Excellent Tour

Very interesting and fascinating tour with experienced guide. Well worth the $$$. Warning: as it is 62 metres down steps, it is also 62 metres back up the same way. Hard work if unfit or overweight but would definitely recommend.
