Are your little water babies keen to surf? This kids only surfing lesson is perfect to get them started, set in one of the most idyllic locations on the Gold Coast. Under the instruction of an expert surfer, they'll be riding waves in no time at all, without any adults there to out-do them.

Get your kids away from the screens and into the ocean for a kids only surfing lesson at The Spit! On arrival, meet the team and get kitted out into your surfing gear before grabbing your board and learning the basic techniques to get you standing up. When you've built up enough confidence, it's time to hit the surf. At first, your instructor will help by pulling you into the best waves. But before you know it, you'll be catching waves on your own, shredding the water like a pro.

Important information

  • This experience is two hours in duration, including a 30 minute safety induction
  • Available Saturday at 8am, with more frequent lessons during school holidays and peak periods
  • Not available 24-26 of December, New Years Day, Australia Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day
  • Participants must be aged 6-12 years
  • No swimming ability necessary. The lesson is conducted in waist deep water but you must be strong enough to hold onto your own surf board (parents may assist with this)
  • Any child with a medical condition or previous injury are recommended to seek the advice of your doctor
  • Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

There is one teacher per six students with a maximum of 24 students.

This experience can be affected by the weather, however still operates in the rain. If the conditions are deemed unsafe by the instructor you will be rescheduled.

Swimmers are necessary.

2 hour surf lesson ‘my girls loved it’

My daughters did a 2 hour surf lesson with Get wet surf school and thoroughly enjoyed it. The team there were so lovely to deal with and very patient with the kids. They had a great morning.
