Kayaking is a wonderful way to immerse yourself in the natural habitat of the marine life in Byron Bay. As you paddle your kayak on this wildlife tour, you will learn about the natural environment, the historical features of the area and about ways to conserve the environment!

During this kayaking tour you will can have the privilege of seeing our local wild dolphins, stingrays, turtles and a wide variety of sea birds! our Go Sea Kayak team is made up of local Surf Life Savers. We are committed to environmental issues and works closely with the local wildlife and marine researchers of the area. You will learn about Aboriginal history and culture, the life cycles of sea turtles, dolphins and whales, and practical ways that you can help our fragile environment.

This experience is part of the Responsible range because they are Advanced ECO certified with Ecotourism Australia and hold the ‘Recognising Our Culture’ certification.

Session Length

The experience is approximately 2 to 2.5hrs on the water with a 15 minute briefing prior to the tour start.


Children must be five years old to participate Not recommended for women 16 weeks or more pregnant.


You must be able to swim at least 20m unassisted to participate in this experience. Participants should also have a spirit of adventure!


Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.

Numbers on the Day

There will be a maximum of 30 participants in the group with four instructors.


In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider. If we have strong winds or large ocean waves we may be forced to cancel and will contact you to let you know.

Dress Code

Casual and comfortable outdoor clothing is recommended, and bring swimmers and a towel, drinking water, sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. Life jackets and wetsuits will be provided.
