Jump aboard a modern L39 Albatros Jet Fighter for a real Top Gun experience. This close air support mission will have you flying low at top speeds over the Burragarang Valley. Throughout the flight you will complete a series of manoeuvres to ensure you get to see what this aircraft is capable of.

What's included?

30 minutes in the Jet Fighter (approx. 20 minutes take-off to touchdown)
Safety and mission brief before the flight
A full flight suit and helmet is provided

Your experience begins with meeting the experienced military and commercial pilot, before being run through a pre-flight briefing and completing the necessary manifest papers. Next, you will move to your aircraft for an inspection and pre-flight photographs. When you are ready and you have put on your flight suit, a trained member of staff will help you aboard the aircraft and assist with seatbelts and flying equipment including your intercom-equipped flying helmet (this makes for another excellent photo opportunity!) During the flight, you will be sitting in the back seat of the aircraft behind the pilot. Within seconds, you'll feel the enormous 4000lbs of thrust spooling up as you take the ride of a lifetime.

This mission will have you on the edge of your seat as you perform a series of high 'G' combat manoeuvres at speeds of up to 910km/h before rolling in on your target to defend the skies of Sydney! You will complete an intense session of aerobatics, including manoeuvres such as the loop, vertical rolls, cuban eight, barrel rolls, aileron rolls, derry turns and four point rolls. After you have completed the aerobatics, you will be diving for the hard deck at speeds of up to 910km/h to perform a low level simulated bombing run through the Victorian countryside. This flight is tailored for you so it can be as mild or as wild as you want! You will be in constant communication with your pilot at all times, who is one of Australia's top fighter pilots. You will have several photo opportunities so don’t forget your camera!

In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.

Dress Code

Enclosed footwear, appropriate clothing for the day, preferably cotton shirts and jeans.

Military aircraft are built and tested to different standards than that put forward by CASA or any equivalent international civil aviation governing body. As such, in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Parts 132.140, 150 and 132.155: The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet any standard recognized by CASA; CASA does not require the aircraft to be operated to the same degree of safety as an aircraft used for regular public transport or charter operations; The passenger agrees to participate in this flight at his or her own risk; If it is reasonable to believe that a passenger cannot understand the safety briefing; said passenger must be accompanied on the flight by a parent, guardian, or carer; A more detailed briefing will be provided to the passenger before they board the aircraft.

Very Disappointing

I had booked this flight a year in advance and was so much looking forward to it. I had travelled interstate, organised flights and accommodation only to be informed the day before by the company that they had to cancel the flight due to a faulty part. After rebooking again, I organised flights and accommodation once again. I was going to hire a car for the day to get to Camden airport for the experience and I just needed confirmation a few days before that the flight was going ahead. I emailed the numerous times, called and left messages and I didn’t receive any word until 1 hour before the scheduled flight. Needless to say I didn’t have a car booked to get there as I didn’t want to spend all the money again only to be told that the flight was not going ahead. Once I did get through to speak to someone, the person on the other end of the phone call came across as rude and abrupt and when I informed her that I contacted the company on numerous occasions to let me know that the flight was going ahead she was quite dismissive and also said that they were going to charge me over $250 for a cancellation fee. I was so upset so I decided to cancel the whole flight and hopefully will be going with another company. This company doesn’t care about your circumstances nor does it care about good service. Red Balloon on the other hand were great to offer me the remaining amount as a refund. Thank you Red Balloon but I would not be using the company for the air support missions at all. Beware!

Disappointing and misleading

This was sold to us on red balloon as a birthday present with availability only was it when I came to actually book the experience that we were told there is no availability for almost 12 months.. very disappointing as this was purchased as a birthday present and now cannot be redeemed for 12 months

As someone who has tried a lot of adrenalin experiences,this is by far the best ,Ray the Owner is a very humble man with an extraordinary life experience,the initial safety briefing is comprehensive and taken seriously,the flight itself is like nothing you would have experienced on other joy or stunt plane flights,by far the best rush experience Ive experienced,10/10

what an amazing opportunity. never thought I would get to experience flying at 850km / hr together with the G forces of what a fighter pilot would feel. Ray my pilot was outstanding. Very experienced, very knowledgeable, explained the likely symptoms I may feel during flight. Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys adrenaline fueled activities. thx Ray. Gary

A Christmas present from my family and I have to say it was an amazing experience. 5 loop de loops, flying upside down, fighter run through the valley followed by a final 5G turn where I nearly fainted from the blood draining from my head, wow ! And I'd do it all again. Recommended for any adrenalin junky, and I'm only 57..... give it a try, the father and son team will really look after you for the thrill of your life.

The location (Camden) was very convenient. The staff were very friendly. The pre-flight briefing was excellent. The flight suit and helmet fitted well. The plane was AWESOME. The pilot got the most out of the time (20mins). The video was well worth the extra cost.
