Forge your very own high-carbon Japanese chef knife at this full-day forging workshop. With no prior experience needed, you'll dive into the world of forging under the guidance of your experienced instructor. Enjoy lunch and drinks with your fellow forgers throughout the day.
Have a go at being a blacksmith for a day at Nordic Edge in Brookvale, NSW. You will get to experience real-life Forged in Fire right in the heart of Sydney. Your day will begin at 8 am where you’ll get to meet your fellow forgers and your instructor for the day. All equipment will be provided, as well as a delicious lunch from the local cafe. Learn the art of forging steel as you create your very own high-carbon Japanese chef knife. Attached to ready-made wooden handles, you’ll have the perfect knife to take home and use in your very own kitchen!
Your class will start at 8 am and end approximately at 4 pm.
There is a maximum of 4 students per class.
It is possible to view the blacksmithing or forging part of the day which is outside under roof. When the students go into the grind room to grind their blades, the spectators will have to stay outside.
This is not affected by the weather.
Please wear long sleeved shirt and pants, and closed-toe shoes. Natural fibres like cotton are good.
