However, the setup process required more hands-on assistance than expected, which was a bit less than ideal. Unfortunately, the flight itself lasted only about 20 minutes before we had to pack up, and while the views above the clouds were stunning, flying over scrubland was somewhat underwhelming. We were offered a 50% discount on a future flight, which was appreciated, though a refund at the time would have felt more appropriate given the circumstances. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Recommended Ballooning over the River Murray Christine 6 May 2024 First of all, Plan A around the Barossa became Plan B much to our liking. Plan A , the winds were not helpful. To our delight, a minivan ride to Blanchetown, across the bridge to set up and go flying, took about 40 minutes. A quick lesson on getting into the balloon, we were ready to go. A perfect peaceful morning, where the birds were heard chirping as we went down the river. Residents came out and waved as were skimmed across the tree tops and rooves of shacks and homes. Viewing the Murray from height, admiring its meandering way down to the ocean, gives it a different perspective in all of its beauty. Every minute is worth the flying time. Unfortunately waiting around in the cold while crew set up and packed up balloon, took some of the shine off. Having the balloon ready to go would of made experience at more enjoyable On previous balloon flights, when we arrived, all the set up was done and we weren't expected to help pack up Found the pilot quite rude and any questions we had were answered with attitude.
