Important information

Session Length

The total experience time is approximately 45 minutes, including a 10-minute briefing and 30-minute flight.

Please note this experience is not operated by Archerfield Airport
Flight durations are accurate within a couple of minutes and reflect the approximate time spent in the air. Please note that variations may occur due to air traffic or operational requirements.
Experience time includes your safety briefing, time for photos, aircraft start-up, and shut-down procedures. This means your total experience may be longer than just the airborne portion.

Restrictions

Not suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions. Pregnant individuals are advised to consult with their doctor before participating. Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to fly.

Guidelines

Participants must be at least 14 years old.
Maximum weight limits apply: 105kg for R22, 135kg for R44.
All participants will be weighed prior to the flight.
No prior flying experience required.?

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and are arranged directly with them according to this policy: Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight time. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the experience.

This is a one-on-one flight experience with a certified instructor.

Spectators

Can watch and photograph from outside the airfield fence line.

Weather

Flights are subject to weather conditions. In cases of adverse weather, flights may be rescheduled or cancelled to ensure safety. V2 Helicopters strives to provide as much notice as possible in such events.

Dress Code

Wear sensible, fully enclosed footwear. Sun protection is recommended as you are fully exposed to the sun. We recommend a cap (compatible with headset), sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to flight departure time.

I was initially terrified of what I thought of as flying glass coffins - then the wonderful, patient and terrifically friendly Shane showed me the ropes. The most fun you can have in half an hour, perfectly exhilarating.

A bit dissapointing

I received this for a 30th birthday present from my wife and was super excited. When I arrived on Saturday 15 minutes before flight time I was told that they were running 45 mins behind. Finally when it was my turn I was asked where I lived which is in the western suburbs of Brisbane and the instructor said let's fly over your house I told him I would prefer to go over the bay and I was shut down straight away, so he proceeded to head over our home which was extremely disappointing.

Awesome experience. Pre-flight training was clear and straightforward. My pilot was very knowledgeable, answering my questions about the helicopter's inner workings and about radio communication. The flight itself was a blast - the R22 is a very agile aircraft, and the wraparound cockpit view on a clear day was incredible as we flew around Brisbane. You will be offered an upgrade for a small extra fee, I would encourage everyone to take it. I got to experience landing on an island in Moreton bay, flying around at low altitude spotting crab pots, pulling some exhilarating sharp turns and even a simulated midair engine failure, all recorded on GoPro for me to take home. My *only* criticism is, I felt a little too closely chaperoned to truly consider this a flying lesson. Even during level flight, I could feel the instructor gently but consistently applying pressure to adjust my cyclic input, making it difficult to tell who was keeping us flying straight. For some of you I'm sure the extra assurance will be a plus!

Really poor experience - bad value for money...

Advertised as an hour experience, comprising 30 minutes briefing and 30 minutes flying using two flight control levers and the throttle... Reality was a nine minute intro video of what would happen (and most of which didn't) and 16 minutes flying using only one control stick and no access to the throttle. When I declined the option to pay more for an extended flight, thinking 30 minutes would be enough, it felt like I received the bare minimum, and I was totally "on my own" (the whole, fly the helicopter yourself) for literally a few seconds... very disappointing. I know of other people who have used different suppliers and had a fantastic experience!!
