Drive a purpose-built V8 drift car instructed by professional drivers. Learn to spin, slide & barrel turns on this exhilarating halfday experience. You progress through each manoeuvre before moving onto the next to finish on a specially designed driftkhana course, with a bonus pro passenger ride.
Designed for the keen driver wanting a fast paced drift experience with some sideways action. Put your driving skills to the test and master the art of drifting on this half day experience. The session kicks off with a safety briefing and introduction to the cars before you jump in with your instructor to begin learning the drift basics as a warm up before advancing into the specially designed drift course. You'll start with the handbrake using it deftly to warm up with some 90 degree handbrake slides. From here you'll move on to barrel turns, figure 8's and tandem drift doughnuts. You will practice and successfully complete each manoeuvre before moving onto the next. Once you've conquered all the moves, you're ready to take on Driftkhana, a specially designed course that puts together all the drift techniques you have learnt. And to top it all off, you'll then switch seats with your driver to see how the pros do it. Hold on tight as he takes you on the ride of a lifetime!
Maximum weight is 120kg
You will be assigned a vehicle on the day with an instructor. The car is shared with 3-4 participants.
Spectators are more than welcome to attend, please ensure you bring along a spare chair as seating is limited to drivers. Spectators can take photography at the experience, providing they do not go on the driver area. We do offer in car video footage that is available to purchase on the day.
This experience is an outdoor event and will go ahead in wet/damp conditions. We still run in wet weather the best drifters were born in the rain. If Queensland Raceway deem the track unsafe, due to extreme weather conditions, we will reschedule your experience to a convenient later date. We do not offer refunds. In the event of a cancelled day the participants will be advised either the night before or morning of the event with the phone number provided in the booking.
Participants must wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt/jumper/jacket and closed-toe shoes to participate, without the correct attire may result in not being able to take part in the experience.
Guidlines Maximum weight is 120kg Participants will be required to sign an indemnity accepting liability for any damage caused to the car. Minimum age for driving is 16 and must hold a learners licence (parents/guardian must bring a medicare card to confirm attendance approval and sign waiver).
This experience takes place at the NEW state of the art Queensland Raceway on the DTC area (Drift Short track). Brisbane, QLD.
