Surprise a speed lover with a go kart racing experience on an international 1100m Le Mans circuit at Kingston, 35 minutes south of Brisbane. It all begins with a driver briefing and tuition, where you will pick up racing tips and learn how to get the most from the race karts before you take to the track.

Then it is helmet on, into the seat and out for four 10 minute race sessions, sitting just centimetres off the ground as you reach speeds of up to 85km/h down the long straights and fight for position through tight, twisting chicanes. Computerised timing records every lap, so this is genuine side by side racing with split second results and printed times to take home. Whether you are gifting it to a lifelong motorsport fan or a total first timer, this is roughly two hours of pure speed on a real race track.

Guidelines

Minimum age is 16 years
Minimum height is 1.6m and maximum weight is 125kg
Participants must be in good physical and mental condition to take part in motorsport events
All participants are required to complete driver registration online prior to arrival
Gloves and a balaclava are mandatory equipment and are available to purchase on site at an additional cost, or participants may bring their own
The total experience may run longer than two hours during busy periods
Saturdays are very busy and often book out weeks in advance

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Public race sessions are for groups of 1 to 25 drivers at a time.

Weather

No racing is carried out during wet weather. In the event that the experience provider has to cancel the racing due to bad weather, you will be rescheduled with the experience provider directly.

Dress Code

Closed-in shoes are essential.

yep, I could have sauntered around the track BUT chose to hit it hard as I could. Did four sessions. Ya definitely know it the next day, and it was definitely worth every bit of "body awakening" ... highly recommended.

Fun day of go karting with family. Disappointed that the go karts vary in speed. Need a show of scores on screen straight after each race then email them to us. Lots of improvements could be made to make the day more enjoyable.

DONT BUY THIS AS A PRESENT - as there are hidden charges not mentioned on website payable on day. Furthermore, even the staff admitted that you might get a lemon as a Kart - which we did. In addition, their safety measures leave a lot to be desired. I ran off the course (my fault) and hit a wall. NO STAFF came to my rescue. My partner had to stop his kart at the check point to find someone to help me. I have actually written to Red Balloon. Sadly - no reply as yet. Just an email asking for my review!

First time in a go kart in many years, was lots of fun and a huge challenge. The 4 races were ideal as we needed 2 races to get the hang of it, but were too exhausted to do any more. Staff were friendly. It is definitely hard work though, so be prepared for bruises, blisters, and exhaustion.
