This tour departs from Hobsons Bay Visitor Information Center, Nelson Place, Williamstown Explore King William’s Town by lamp light—Victoria’s original capital, where history and hauntings go hand in hand. Once alive with drunken sailors, colourful ladies, and condemned convicts, this thriving seaport now whispers with the echoes of its past. Wander eerie alleyways, hidden laneways, and long-abandoned burial grounds. Step inside Victoria’s oldest morgue and stand beneath Australia’s haunting Timeball Tower—one of only a handful still operating in the world—as ghostly tales come to life. This is not just a tour—it’s a walk with the dead through the shadows of Australia’s most historic port. This experience is 1.5 hrs and runs every Friday and Saturday at 8.30pm

Guidelines

Adult: 17 years old+
Child: 8 to 16 years old
Participants must be able to walk for up to 2 hrs along flat, accessible paths at a leisurely rate

We had a fabulous experience with Timea as our guide. It was a clear, cool night. Great stories in picturesque beach setting. It did involve brisk walking on dark, uneven streets. Becperpared. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather.

We had our lovely tour guide Linda and she took the group for a walk all through the town. Even if you aren’t into the ghost side of things the learning the history of the buildings and places was great too! I was lucky enough to use the spirt rods and it was very freaky but enlighting as well! Highly recommend! :)

Tour Guide was excellent and had great knowledge Great night of entertainment. Unfortunate that the tour guide did not have the keys to the gate for the mortuary. The security guards keep locking the gate.

Our ghost host Carol was friendly and informative. The 2 hour walking tour was interesting and fun. It took us to several sites and Carol told us tales of characters from bygone days and their misfortunes. I'm quite certain that whilst in the darkened old morgue a spirit tapped me on the shoulder; there is no other explanation as all the other guests and the guide were several feet away in front from me. It wasn't scary, but it took me aback a little. I would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends for a fun night out with a difference.

We enjoyed the tour, great host and interesting stories. The only thing that took away from the night was the disruptive participants. There were kids and a party of people who were talking and being disruptive overall. I feel the host should be more assertive and ask people who are disruptive to be quiet so others can enjoy the tour. I would consider doing more tours from this provider

I didn't realise that Williamstown dated back into the 1850s. The conditions and way of life were very informative. Although I, personally didn't experience any ghostly apparations a couple of our group did. Our tour guide was great.
