**BOARDING PASS REQUIRED** Check-in 8.45am - 9.45am at the Sunlover Cruises counter inside the Reef Fleet Terminal
This experience departs from at 10:00am and arrives at Fitzroy Island at approximately 11:00am. Departs Fitzroy Island at 3.30pm and arrives in Cairns at 4.30pm.
Reconfirm return boarding time at the Island with the crew on board.

On rare occasions, tidal conditions prohibit our vessel from accessing the island however we will advise of the best course of action in the event of this occurring.

Dress Code

We recommend you bring swimwear, a towel, sun protective gear (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), and anything else you may need for a day on the island.

Adult tickets are valid for those aged 16 years and older. Children tickets are valid for those aged between 4-15 years old. Children 3 years and under are free of charge, we do require them to be added to your booking. Please contact our team prior to travel. Family tickets are for 2 adults, 2 children.

Snorkelling at Fitzroy island

We did the glass bottom boat and snorkel package , both very worth it. We did the glass bottom bait first which gave us a great idea exactly where to snorkel to get the best views. There is a bar and grill on the island which has nice cold beers and steak of chicken burgers etc. rent a stinger suit , it’s a must to avoid the pain of getting bitten/ stung. Food is about $30 per meal , you can stay at the resort but it is $$

The boat ride across to Fitzroy was good

I thought it was quite expensive for a return ticket to Fitzroy island. The island is very messy the toilets were disgusting. We couldn’t swim because there was a full moon so apparently it brings out the stingers. No sand on the beach only coral which is hard to walk on. The resort could put some benches for people to sit on along the beach path. The general store was so expensive.

Fitzroy island is a magnificent tropical paradise of the coast of cairns and just a breathtaking place to spend the day enjoying the perfect blue waters either snorkeling kayaking or just for a swim along side the cheeky and whimsical turtles and schools of fish that come right up to you. With a cafe and bar right on the beach to keep you well fed and cheerful. It was beautiful.

Our day at Fitzroy Island was amazing. The boat rides were fabulous. The staff were great. Even the food and drinks on the island were reasonably priced. A hike to Nudey Beach followed by snorkelling around the rocks and reefs is a must! We saw hundreds of tropical fish, turtles and a shovel nose ray.

The boat was great lots of room and lovely staff giving great advice Fitzroy island is gorgeous and unspoilt Walk the rocky paths to nudie beach, no one was nude but the beach was paradise blue clear water and white sand Restaurant was rubbish so bring food

The island was fantastic great weather water was warm and plenty of shade. The trip out and back was very average boat was very tired looking. Ran into swell heaps of vomiting guests the boat was rank. Had some guy in the microphone plugging his wares pretty much the entire journey. This was a stop as other guest where continuing on to reef they seemed more interested in them. Return pick up 40min late. Pretty poor service all over.

The trip itself was fantastic, Fitzroy island is beautiful in every sense. However finding the location of the office was a nightmare. The address sent does not correspond to the right address on google maps, and we only made the trip by one minute because the company called us asking where we were and tried to help direct us, although had little knowledge of the area and it’s streets. After phone calls back and forth a few times we finally found the location, about 500m from the location sent through email, was incredibly stressful. More specific instructions on how to find the office must be updated for ease of travellers. Trip back was easy however, Fitzroy island is a must for any Cairns travellers!
