This TOP GUN fighter pilot simulator experience is as close as you'll get to flying the real F/A-18 Hornet. Flying at the speed of sound, seeing the ground rush on a bombing run, to shooting for the stars in an Air to Air combat mission. At the Air Combat Centre you'll "feel the need for speed".

What's included?

30mins of simulated combat flying
Pre-flight briefing (performed in cockpit prior to the scheduled start time) and guidance provided during session

Flying a fast jet is one of the most exhilarating experiences you could ever imagine. However it is out of reach for the general public, with only the elite Air Force pilots being able to have this thrill. Until now!

This 30 minute experience will allow you to fully experience the aircraft and the capabilities it really has offer. Strap in and become the Top Gun.

Session Length

Sessions run for 40 minutes, including in cockpit briefing. Please check availability as it is subject to change at short notice
Available Saturday and Sunday only

Guidelines

Minimum ages is 10 years old
Max height 6'4". Max weight 180kg.
Any participants that are under the effect of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted into the simulator
Persons with mobility, hearing and sight impairments; vertigo; epilepsy are not recommended to undertake the flight simulation experience.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

You will be by yourself in the simulator. Your instructor will guide you through the experience.

Spectators

Up to 3 other people are permitted in the trailer during the session.

Dress Code

Enclosed shoes must be worn in the simulator. No thongs, sandals, high heels or stilettos.

Location

This experience takes place in the flight simulator trailer at Aviation Heritage Centre at Caboolture Airport.

What a great experience to see how the airforce pilots throw these planes around the sky.I managed to shoot a baddie down but unfortunately bugged up the landing.Would have loved to come in on a long approach rather than banking to land.Ran out of time but still enjoyed it.

It was a great Christmas gift for our plane obsessed son. He loved the simulation and the instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend the experience to anyone e interested in aviation.

Great fun. 30 minutes is not a lot of time in a simulator. Even so it was made pleasuable by having an instructor there to guide me throught the whole experience. Don't expect to become an expert at flying a combat aircraft and try not to or get hung up on the mistakes you'll inevitibly make. Just imerse yourself in the experience for the shear novelty of it. The graphics are a bit on the grainy side regarding the view out of the cockpit but good enough to pick out major features. Graphics inside the cockpit are clear and surprisingly simple compared to a commercial aircraft.
