Upon arrival, you'll be taken through a detailed pre drive briefing, covering information on the handling of the car, cornering, braking and the track map to ensure you get the most out of your drive safely. Get geared up in your race suit and helmet before meeting your in car instructor and hopping into the driver's seat. Before you know it, you'll be blasting around Sandown Raceway at any speed you wish, tackling straights and corners with ease. Throughout the entire drive, your in car instructor will be guiding you through the headset so that your four lap session remains exciting and safe. Feel free to invite your family and friends so that they can view all the incredible V8 action from the sidelines. At the session's end, you'll be shocked at how easy it is to drive a real V8 race car.

No manual transmission driving experience necessary.

Session Length

Please allow a two to three hours for this experience, including the briefing
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking time

Guidelines

All participants must be drug and alcohol free
Participants must be at least 18 years and hold your P plate license at a minimum
A V8 automatic Holden is available (except Western Australia) for drivers who don't hold a manual license
Participants who arrive on the day of their experience and do not adhere to these guidelines will forfeit their experience
Please note there is an excess paid to the experience provider in the event of any damage caused to the car
Race days are held throughout the year on specified dates
Maximum weight limit is 130kg
Minimum height is 135cm and the maximum height is 194cm

Cancellation

This experience is non refundable.

Failure to give notice or un attendance: In the event that you redeem a voucher “convert to a booking” and you do not attend the experience date, or choose not to participate in your experience will result in your booking being unusable for any future bookings and the redemption period being void. This is due to Fastrack Experiences bearing the cost to prepare and provide your experience irrespective of your un attendance or non participation.

Standard events, $30.00 rebooking fee if booking is changed within 8 to 14 days from your booked date. $50.00 rebooking fee if booking is changed 7 days or less from your booked date.

Numbers on the Day

Your briefing will be held in a group of approximately 20 to 25 people.

Dress Code

Please wear comfortable, enclosed flat soled shoes.

I recently did the v8 car racing experience and unfortunately it was very disappointing, especially for the price. I spent nearly $1000 expecting a thrilling and memorable experience, but it didn’t live up to what was advertised. The entire drive felt extremely restricted. The instructor constantly braked and controlled the car for me, which made it hard to actually enjoy the drive or build confidence with each lap. I purchased 10 laps plus an additional 2 laps with the professional driver, thinking I’d be able to progress and pick up speed as I went — but there was no real opportunity to improve or push the car. To be honest, the car didn’t feel particularly fast or exciting either, which was surprising for a C8 experience. For the amount of money spent, I expected a lot more freedom, speed and overall thrill. Overall, it felt very controlled, overpriced and not worth the nearly $1000 paid. Felt like I was on my learners again.

Great instructor and set up. I paid for extra laps on the day as recommended by staff. However, this was, to me, a waste. 3 out of 6 laps I had to slow right down and move over for the hot lap pro drivers to pass. This occurred up to three times per lap over three laps. Was not able to get the full experience as staff stated on the day. So that was disappointing. Is this worth the moment? I would say absolutely if the hot lap pro drivers weren’t driving while you are. If they are, then it’s not really worth it.
