Take a cruise through a world lost in time and experience the hidden wonders of the ancient Daintree waterways as they wind their millennial paths through the World Heritage-listed tropical rainforests of Far North Queensland. Who knows, you might just come face to face with a beady-eyed local.
Dense rainforest canopies and mountain views await the adventurous on this must-do Daintree River experience. With cruises departing six times daily from the Daintree Village jetty, you will get up close to nature and enjoy the magnificent Wet Tropics World Heritage in comfort. An especially popular cruise for bird watchers, you will wind your way through dense rainforest and mangroves, taking in spectacular views of Thornton Peak and watching out for exotic wading birds fossicking for tasty feed amongst the exposed mudflaps. Meanwhile, majestic Brahminy Kites look regally down from their perches high above as you dart through the shallows. You’ll see a vast array of waterlife as you get up close and personal with all the locals including the most awe-inspiring of all, the prominent resident Salt Water Crocodiles basking themselves in the sun or gliding silently through the reeds.
Saltwater crocodiles, birdlife, reptiles and butterflies are just some of the wildlife you will encounter on this trip, with your Eco River Tour Guide, local naturalists with a keen interest in the local environment and passion for flora and fauna of the Daintree River systems, providing engaging and highly informative commentary during the trip. Crocodile Express guides communicate with each other by radio to give you the best opportunity for wildlife sightings along the river. Your tour vessel is stable and spacious, allowing you and all other passengers to get up close and personal with the wildlife as you move around the boat to get the best photos. Guide and assistance dogs are permitted. Other dogs may be permitted at the discretion of the boat crew member on the day. Issues may occur if some passengers on board express they fear animals. Barking dogs are not permitted due to the discomfort of other travellers and disturbing wildlife.

We operate in most weather with the exception of flooding.
Casual clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera and insect spray if you are doing any rainforest walks in Daintree National Park.
Folding wheelchairs can be accommodated. Cruises from Daintree Village can be accessed via a drop-down ramp that can be lowered on the boat ramp for easy access. Cruises from Daintree Ferry Gateway aboard "Jungle King" are via two steps from the boat pontoon. The crew are happy to assist if help is required. Please advise restrictions prior to your cruise date by email or phone.
