You will be provided with expert instruction to help you hit your targets and enjoy this awesome clay target shooting experience. Most of these sessions are hosted by Olympian and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Laura Coles. The day will start with an informative introduction to clay target shooting and gun safety. To add to the excitement of the day you will have the opportunity compete against the other participants in the group and to conclude the session, trophies will be presented to the winners. Next, you will head out to the layout where you will receive individual coaching. As well as being fun, shooting clays also builds self-confidence and a belief in your ability to learn new things. It may be the start of a new passion!

Important information

Session Length

This experience is approximately 90 minutes in duration depending on the number of participants in your session
Sessions are held on selected Saturdays and Sundays

Restrictions

Participants must be at 12 years or older. As per the Firearms Act of 2024 please ensure you bring photo ID with you (preferably drivers licence or passport). For participants who are under 18 years of age the parent's or legal guardian's photo ID must be sighted and the parent or legal guardian must be present for the duration of the event. Please note that you or your guest cannot participate if you have been the subject of a firearms prohibition order, violence, the use or possession of a prohibited drug, terrorism, offence of a sexual nature or the respondent in a violence restraining order.

Guidelines

Participants must be at least 12 years of age
Persons under 18 years must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian
No gun licence necessary
Participants must bring photo ID with them (e.g. driver's licence or passport).

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 10 days before the start time of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
If you are not present for the safety briefing, which will be conducted at the start time of your session you will be required to pay a $50 rebooking fee to rebook for a later date. For this reason we recommend arriving 15 minutes prior to your allotted start time.

Numbers on the Day

This voucher is valid for one person.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome and can be present on the range with you. Hearing and eye protection will be provided for spectators too.

Weather

We conduct our sessions under a large shelter to keep you out of the sun in summer and out of the rain in winter. The only reason we would cancel a session due to weather is if there is active lightning in the area. If there is lightening, your experience will be rescheduled free of charge.

Dress Code

Fully enclosed shoes are required. No singlet tops. No camouflage.

Other Info

Olympian and Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Laura Coles will host the event on most dates.

Clay Target Shooting for Father's Day - INCREDIBLE

I bought this incredible experience as a Father's Day gift from Red Balloon. We've both shot hand guns before down at the range but never Clay Target Shooting. This was a first for us and we had a blast! Hot Shots Shooting were super organised in the emails they sent, information they provided ahead of time and the individuals who were our instructors on the day. From the safety briefing to the personal instruction on how to shoot the targets and tips for success, they were amazing! My teacher was amazing with his instruction, so much so I was able to actually hit the third stage target where it moves across your vision at medium speed, which surprised and delighted me! To top it off, the group of shooters did a fun competition at the end where we did the stages again after our practice round. Luck for myself and my dad, he got first place and I came second! Big, fun surprise for us both (particularly because I didn't remember that was going to be part of the experience). Love, love, love it and can't recommend Hot Shots Shooting enough!

Hadn’t shot for 48 years and my fear was that I wouldn’t hit anything! The coaching was calm, strategic and affirming and I surprised myself!! A great experience and highly recommend it.

Both instructors were amazing! They are professional, knowledgeable, patient, kind and supportive.They guided us through the process of clay shooting, provided instant supportive and helpful feedback in a kind supportive way. It was great to see the progress of all of us by the end of our cold morning. It was great to have the competition aspect at the end. A great different 30th birthday gift!

I enjoyed the activity and the staff were friendly and attentive. It is a little pricey and the session was a little slow paced, would have liked to be able to participate a bit more over the course of 2 hours but due to there being 9 other people it takes a bit of time to go through. Maybe for that price it would be nice to have a little sausage sizzle afterwards.

Something I have always wanted to do and it was excellant. The instructors were very good and safety was a priority. If you are thinking whether to try it or not I say try it. The recoil on to your shoulder is a lot more gentle than I thought it would be. Good fun.

I got this as a birthday gift which was a great idea was a great experience for a first time shooter ... fun and also informative. Instructors where great helpful and patient alot of fun with the competition in the end... will definitely be going back
