Set in the picturesque and expansive landscaped grounds of South Tasmania, this premier winery is located in the estates original 1880's homestead. The views from the surrounding vineyards and lakes provide an idyllic location to relax and enjoy the variety of estate grown wines at the Cellar Door. This winery has been awarded among the Top 10 Cellar Doors of Australia; relish the elegant, subtle and complex smells and flavours of each carefully made wine as it swirls around your mouth during the tasting.

Stroll through the gardens, around the lakes and down by the vineyards and breath in the fresh country air. When you have worked up your appetite, return to the restaurant for a delectable 2 course lunch where only the best Tasmanian produce is used. Your lunch will also be served with matching wines from the estate. This is an afternoon of delicious food and wine, exceptional quality and a setting to match, and if you're feeling like splurging there is an opportunity to purchase your favourite wines directly from the Cellar Door shop.

Overpriced

Received experience as a gift based on photos on your gallery which was far from the tasting provided. Staff were friendly and meal was lovely however. No one stayed with a during the tasting to give us any history of the winery or describe each wine as we tasted it. We were directed to go through to the restaurant when we were finished our tasting. The 2 course dishes were small and extremely overpriced. We could have walked in and had the same experience for marginally less. The overall cost of $250 was over the top for this "experience " which is a great shame.

Beautiful vineyard. Tasting & lunch packsge awesome. 2 course food fresh & yummy followed by cheese platter. Walk around vineyard afterwards very pleasant. Highly recommend.

Tasmanian Winery with an unforgettable view

[Employee of redballoon] We visited Josef Chromy on a weekend getaway to Launceston and walking distance from our accommodation. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the peaceful surroundings and beautiful views. The wine tasting was conducted overlooking the vines. Next, we sat down for the two course lunch which was delicious though the portion sizes were a little on the small side. Take some time to wander the gardens, grounds and rotunda overlooking the small lake. I would highly recommend this wine tasting and lunch for all that visit Launceston and surrounds.

A wonderful afternoon spent in the shade of trees, tasting exceptional wines. The restaurant meal was served by a delightful waiter while the octopus and fish were supberb.

This experience was so good. The staff were super friendly and I have never had such a generous wine tasting experience. The lunch was excellent with the paired wines. The setting was so beautiful. I can thoroughly recommend this. The Red Balloon team were so friendly and helpful when I had to change dates.
