Hook-A-Barra Fishing Experience takes you on a fun hands-on adventure, where you can learn all about this native iconic species that has all anglers obsessed. The best part is that you don’t have to know how to fish to be part of the action! The friendly crew on hand will help you battle it out against your friends and family to create unforgettable memories for even the first-time fisherman or woman. The local fishing guides will have you hooked on fishing - and you never know, you may even catch the big one. There is an onsite kitchen available, where you can experience the freshest fish in Far North Queensland. Delicious, award-winning, and sustainable food, and only 50 meters from paddock to plate. Perfect for both the experienced and beginner fisher!

Please allow 1.5 hours for this experience.

Personal rods and tackle are not permitted onsite as they create a bio-security risk to the entire farm.

  • Treble hooks are not permitted and only single, barbless hooks are used to protect the fish from needless injury
  • Take your catch home for $18.5per kilo payable on the day
  • Infants under five years have free admission to the park but unfortunately not free fishing
  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Spectator tickets can be purchased directly from the provider.

Expensive fishing

I found it expensive for fishing only, breeding tank and examples in shed was minimal, was hoping to get heaps more info on Barra and their lifecycle. Not worth the time or money
