Hear fascinating commentary from the knowledgeable guide on this full day tour with lunch. You'll spend the day enjoying delicious local produce and learning about Bruny Island. You will be in a small group of up to 24 fellow travellers, and you'll even get to experience the beach, coast and short walks!

This is the ultimate day out on Bruny Island. Taste your way across across the island visiting some of our favourite artisan producers on a gourmet adventure whilst taking in the spectacular scenery. Meet with the local producers in an exclusive look 'behind the scenes' at how the produce is sourced. You'll see incredible scenery, soak in sweeping views from the Bruny Island Neck, take a stroll along deserted beaches and spot rare white wallabies on the private bush reserve.

This experience is part of the Responsible range because they are ECO certified by Ecotourism Australia.

Session Length

The tour lasts one full day, departing at 7:45am and returning at 5:30pm
Tours operate all year round, every day except Christmas Day

Guidelines

There is no age, or height restriction on the Bruny Island Gourmet Tour
Children under 3 years are free of charge.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 24 hours before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 24 hours of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

There will be up to 20 guests per tour. You will travel with one of the local knowledgeable guides.

Weather

In the event of rain or inclement weather your experience will still go ahead unless contacted by the experience provider.

Dress Code

Passengers should dress warmly allowing for possible cool conditions, warm jackets and comfortable footwear are recommended.

Location

Bruny Island is located 45 minutes south of Hobart, Tasmania's capital city. Tours depart from Hobart to travel across to the island.

Great food tour of Bruny Island

I was travelling solo in Tasmania and booked this tour of Bruny Island. I was really happy with the tour - transport, tour guide, food, locations we stopped - everything was amazing. The tour guide was very informative and made everyone feel welcome. I enjoyed all of the food/drink stops, as well as the scenic location stops. I would recommend this tour to other solo travellers.

Brilliant day out

Put simply, I can't recommend this experience highly enough. The day ran like clockwork filled with cheese, chocolate, honey, oysters, a delicious lunch and all the scenery and history. Plenty of time at all the stops, so there's ample time to see everything. Excellent value.

The Highlight of our Tasmania trip so far!

My daughters bought the Bruny Island Gourmet Tour for me for my 60th Birthday and so of course we had to then plan a holiday around it! The day out was fantastic from the moment we were picked up at our motel by Alan, our driver until we arrived back with full bellies & happy hearts. Alan gave interesting commentary throughout the day and made sure everyone was comfortable and well cared for. The locations we stopped at were all fantastic whether they were for photo opportunities, historical interest or the amazing food & drinks - they were all stunning. Bruny Island Cheese OMG superb, the Get Shucked oysters, best I have ever eaten and the Blue Trevally , chips & salad! Beautifully cooked and such fresh produce. The Hibe gardens & Chocolate, what a gift to be able to visit the garden, just glorious 🥰 Brunt Island Honey, again so professionally run and just a great experience. An added bonus was meeting some really lovely like minded people and enjoying their company , I would book it again in a heart beat!

Was a great experience had plenty of fun searching around the island and tasting the many brilliant produces of the island. Could not recommend more for anyone looking to have a great guided day out Staff were great, cheese and beer excellent along with every other of the 6 produces tasted and I purchased for myself.

I've got to say - this trip lived up to the hype! Firstly there was our excellent guide Alan - who was an absolute superstar - a true asset to the organisation: he was friendly, knowledgeable, patient and pleasant. He went above and beyond, sharing local knowledge and answering our questions. The food itself was excellent: fudge, chocolate, oysters, beer, cheese, and more! And the sights were breathtaking! Highly recommend this tour - great value for money and a wonderful way to see (and taste) parts of Tassie you may not normally see!
