Join passionate beekeepers on a guided tour of an apiary in Bowral, regional New South Wales for a sneak peek into the fascinating lives of bees and their essential role as the earth's pollinators. Start the experience with a cosy morning tea and guided taste testing of up to ten unique floral honeys, each with its own unique taste, texture, colour, and aroma. Participants will then suit up for a behind-the-scenes look at the different styles of bee hives including the Flow Hive and discover what is involved in inspecting the patterns of the Queen Bee and how to check colony health. This unique experience is perfect for nature lovers and those interested in starting their own beekeeping journey. Session Length

The duration of this experience is two hours.

Restrictions

This is an experience best enjoyed by people 10 years of age & older.

Guidelines

  • Participants must be at least 10 years old
  • Participants must have no known allergic reactions to bee stings
  • Participants must be able to get into a bee suit

Cancellation

  • Change your booking up to 7 days before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 7 days of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no show may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

This is a small group experience with numbers limited to 8 participants. However, if you are part of a larger group we can accommodate you and simply bring in another beekeeper to open another hive.

Spectators

All guests on site must be booked into the workshop if you choose not to participate in the bee hive part there is a safe place that you can watch from.

Weather

If we have to cancel on the day due to poor weather (it is an outside activity) we would aim to reschedule, but if that doesn't work once again a full refund less the merchant fees.

Dress Code

You must wear boots. That is, ankle-covering boots, something like riding boots, gum boots or work boots. If you only have joggers you must bring 2x pairs of long socks to cover your ankles.
