Highlights

  • Immerse yourself in an animal's world, playing home to over 180 species
  • Encounter koalas, kangaroos, emus, dingoes, Tasmanian devils and more
  • Fun for the entire family out in the Australian bush

Roam around with over 180 native species at Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park. Boasting 80-acres, the property plays home to animals big and small like koalas, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils and dingoes, and offers the excitement of encountering animals out in the wild. Fun for the entire family!

What's Included?

  • General admission to Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park

If you're looking for something a little more exciting than your run-of-the-mill zoo visit, head to the Australian Walkabout Wildlife Park, less than an hour north of Sydney. This fascinating park allows you to fully immerse yourself in the animal's world, roaming free with over 180 species. Throughout the 80-acre property, you may come across wildlife ranging from kangaroos, koalas, dingoes and Tasmanian devils to many reptiles, frogs and birds. Some of the species are even on the verge of extinction, but inside the protected sanctuary the entire ecosystem is thriving. While interactions with every animal is unlikely, you will enjoy the excitement of the search for every animal encounter. There are countless opportunities to get up close and personal with the animals, as well as activities that show an appreciation for Aboriginal culture and sites. This is the perfect day out for the entire family!

Session Length

The Park is open daily from 9am to 5pm.

Restrictions

FEEDING ANIMALS: Do not feed any animals (except farm animals in the petting zoo). Do not walk around with food as this is a temptation to the animals. Only eat inside the fenced picnic area. People think that feeding animals makes them your friend. It doesn't. It just teaches them that people will give them food. This is confusing and animals may become aggressive if a person (even a small child) then does not give them food. Walkabout Park animals are gentle and well behaved. This is because they do not expect food from you. Please help us to keep Walkabout Park safe for animals and people.

Guidelines

  • Participants must remain on the tracks at all times, unless on a guided off the tracks walk with a Ranger
  • Please do not feed any animals (except farm animals in the petting zoo). Do not walk around with food as this is a temptation to the animals. Only eat inside the fenced picnic area
  • Do not use selfie sticks to photograph inside animal enclosures. Do not extend any part of your body or any property over the fence of any enclosure
  • Do not spit or drop a cigarette butt or trash as this is a health hazard for the animals who may eat it and get sick
  • The more remote natural bush tracks that go to the Aboriginal Sites are not pram or wheelchair accessible

Cancellation

Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged directly with them according to their policy.

Weather

This is an all-weather experience.

Dress Code

Closed-toe flat shoes and long pants are recommended. If it is raining it is recommended to bring a raincoat and not an umbrella, as they can get caught in the overhanging branches.

Other Info

HEAT: If it is hot, bring a hat, water bottle, sunscreen and sun glasses. RAIN: If it is wet, we do NOT recommend umbrellas as they get caught on overhanging branches. Bring a raincoat or purchase a lightweight rain poncho in our shop, put on your gum boots, and get ready to stomp in some puddles. SOGGY GROUND: The ground is usually dry. Walkabout Park is on top of the ridge-line so any rain usually drains away quickly, leaving the ground mud-free.

This experience takes place in Calga, one hour north of Sydney, NSW.
