The only downside to getting this package is the portion sizes. I saw other reviews mentioning this also, but thought it would be ideal to try for myself and unfortunately, I do agree. My partner and myself aren’t big eaters, I’d like to think we eat a pretty moderate amount and the quantity of food we got wasn’t enough to fill either of us. ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Not worth doing through Red Balloon Patrick 16 June 2024 I have struggled to use my Red Balloons voucher, I have had to upgrade it repeatedly, I did want to use it to book a 1 night in the Flinders Hotel, and on Red Ballons it states I could buy the voucher, call them and pay $150 to upgrade to a weekend, well that was NOT THE CASE, the said NO! I could not upgrade, and I didn't want to use it mid-week, So I was forced to spend my voucher on this 5-course meal. What a disappointment, The food started out ok, ie the three entrees were nice, but the main course and desserts were not. The Duck breast meat was OK, lukewarm, but the skin was rubber, No crisp here. The Sweet potato mash with a hint of Wasabi ruined the flavour and the dish. The deserts were frozen, straight out of the freezer, pre-made and very hard to eat and not enjoyable. The coconut sorbet was especially terrible, So frozen my wife could not eat it at all, The dark chocolate biscuit base was so bitter it was also inedible, the frozen berries in each dish gave us brain freeze. In regards to RedBalloon, zero benefits I could have walked spent the SAME amount of money and received the SAME deal, BUT had the option of choosing a different mean at the exact same value, 65 per person with 50 to spare for a bottle of wine or drinks. In Fact, the meal we wanted to eat was 5 less per person and they wouldn’t let us choose that! WHY NOT? ★★★★★ ★★★★★ Waste of a voucher Simone 3 March 2024 Not enough food. One prawn for first course. 2 small lamb ribs for second. A reasonable amount of calamari (mixed with octopus pieces by the way). Pork belly was not all that crispy. And a small serving to share. No sides with the pork. Dessert was fine. Drinks were good. Liked that instead of the wine you could purchase any drinks to the value of as we are not wine drinkers. Service was incredibly slow. Took 2.5 hours to get all our meals.
