Relax and unwind in a secluded log cabin overlooking the tranquil Turon River, comfortably sleeping up to eight guests (cost additional over four guests). Your holiday home features one seperate bedroom with a king-size bed, plus a cosy fireplace and six single beds in the main room. You can even choose to bring your favourite furry friend along, as long as you bring your own bedding and feeding bowls. Spread out over 6000 acres, Turon Gates Eco Retreat offers horse riding and canoe hire, or choose to reconnect over simple activities like bushwalking, swimming, fishing, gold panning and stargazing. With no mobile phone reception, TVs or Wi-Fi, sit back and enjoy the serenity of the great Aussie bush and perhaps bring some marshmallows to roast around your private campfire.

Guidelines

Please note there is no mobile phone reception down in the valley, TV, telephone or Wi-Fi for your complete rest and relaxation
Do bring your food with you. Salt, pepper, sugar, matches, detergent, tea towels, soap, and fire starters are supplied. Don’t forget bedding and feeding bowls for your pet
You must leave your cottage in good order with dishes washed and put away. A cleaning charge will apply for extra cleaning
Breakages, damage and missing items will need to be accounted for
If pets are allowed up on furniture this generally will result in a cleaning fee as the hair and dirt needs a special clean
Check in is any time after 3pm. Check out is before 10:30am.

Cancellation

Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience
Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Numbers on the Day

Four guests and one dog is included in the price. Any extra people would be at an additional charge of $60 per person per night - can cater to up to six guests. Guests below the age of two years are free of charge.

Weather

This experience will go ahead regardless of weather.

Dress Code

It is recommended to wear casual, warm clothing as the weather can be cooler in the mountains. Do bring personal sunscreen, toiletries etc. Some people like to bring marshmallows for roasting on the fire, torches, picnic rugs, pillows and water toys.

Other Info

There is a general store for basic food supplies and a bottle shop at Capertee. If driving from Sydney, it would be better to buy supplies from a supermarket in Lithgow or Katoomba as there is more choice.

City circuit breaker

We’ve just come home from our four day three night holiday to Turon gates and my kids are already speaking of returning. We stayed in the cosy cabin 5 mid September with two boys (5 & 3) and our 5 month baby. Tot was such an awesome circuit breaker for my husband and I and had the kids outdoors the entire time by the river, pony riding, bush walking, watching the goats, kangaroos and birds. The kitchen had everything we needed, the indoor fireplace was well stocked and perfect keeping the cabin warm, the outdoor fire pit with cook top, oven or gas bbq saw us cooking all types of food. The ladies at the stable were great as was the carers. We will be back!
