Food was really good, and plenty of it. Service was excellent. The venue was beautiful with its ornate ceiling. And very easily accessible via public transport being only a short two block walk from the train station.

Great Lunch Out

Had a voucher given to us for Xmas so opted to take it at lunch time. Busy restaurant but very efficient, friendly staff. Food was great. I wasn't a big fan of the new open plan dining room, would have preferred to still have booths which were a bit more private. Felt like we were lunching with everyone else in the dining room. Looking forward to trying the South Perth venue.

City Steak House - Decor, great. Ambience, great. Service - Fantastic. Food, too much charring for me. We didn't want to have to pay extra, so we asked for still water, thinking it would be tap water, so I was so surprised to be asked to pay a ridiculous amount for bottles of still water.

Red balloon request = missed bookings

We placed the booking request from Red balloon 54 hours prior, after checking their live booking system at the time to confirm there were still availability. We waited for 2 days heard no reply from the restaurant. So we called 5 hours prior, only to be told there was no table held for us, because live booking after our request would have taken the spots. They’ve also confirmed they attempted to email us about the outcome, but email bounced, no one realised this until I called. By this point we had organised baby sitter and all the affairs to have a lovely evening at Meat and Wine Co, only to be told it’s not happening. Deeply disappointed by the whole experience. If your restaurant is so popular that has no leeway for a table for 2 on a Tuesday night, perhaps consider come off red balloon because you clearly don’t need the business.
