★★★★★ ★★★★★ Overpriced and underwhelming - do not book. Gaby 25 January 2026 Booking the experience through RedBalloon was very easy and straightforward, and the voucher process itself was smooth. We used a RedBalloon voucher for the $179 set menu experience, which included calamari, garlic bread, beef, chicken skewer, dessert and one drink. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations for a premium, prepaid dining package. The calamari and garlic bread tasted like standard frozen products that had been reheated, with limited flavour and presentation similar to what you’d find at a typical pub. The beef main was very oily and had a significant amount of gristle, which made it extremely difficult to eat and impossible to finish. The texture was unusual and far from tender or melt-in-your-mouth, with tough fibres throughout that made cutting it a real struggle even with a big steak knife. My hand was sore by the time I was done (and I’m 28, not particularly frail!). The chicken was the most palatable of the main with a decent flavour, though overall the standard of the food below average and disappointing. My partner and I both have very sweet tooth's and were hoping that desert would redeem how we'd felt about the food so far. However, dessert was a “Dubai chocolate” style fondant cake that was extremely sickly sweet and quite overpowering, which meant we couldn’t even finish half it. As we were still hungry and dissatisfied with the set menu, we ordered a half rack of beef ribs separately. While this was easily the most enjoyable dish we had, it was not included in the $170 RedBalloon package we had prepaid for, and we ended up spending an additional $60 just to leave feeling somewhat satisfied. Overall, we didn’t feel the experience delivered the quality or value expected from a RedBalloon dining package. While the booking process was easy and staff were great, we wouldn’t recommend using a RedBalloon voucher on this particular experience. We enjoy trying new restaurants and have visited many of Canberra’s high-end spots, so we have a sense of quality. Unfortunately, this experience didn’t reach that level.
